“Improvements”[edit]

Please stop using edit summaries to state you’ve improved the articles, because in most cases you actually haven’t. I understand your good intent, but it is creating a lot of work for other editors. Also, for example, “eight” shouldn't be changed to “8”.

I may have to blind revert your past edits, given the state you’re leaving them in. Please take more care going forwards, to avoid wasting your own time. Seasider53 (talk) 06:12, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Thank you for the advice.

Seasider53- Going into more detail, I must say that you likely an excellent editor, but you are not a good mentor or communication of information. As I am still considered a "rookie" editor whose aim it is to be a help and a support to Wikipedia. Prior to your comments, I have not had any other contact from Wikipedia on my edits. Therefore I have done my best on my edits....I find that although your opinion was likely factual, it would have broken (and not encouraged) the spirit of a lesser editor.4
How can I improve as an editor? I would expect specific insight on my specific edits and information on how to improve my performance. For instance, you gave one specific suggestion:... "eight should be changed to 8"...this suggestion was very practical and helpful and will be heeded in future edits. But as for other specific advice...there was none.
Please feel free to respond to my future edits, but I work best with ways to improve and succeed with specific ways to improve my current edits and not wholesale criticism of an individuals work. So while you 'volunteer" to offer your advice to new editors, please keep in mind that they are indeed new and need specific ways to improve and not wholesale criticism of their work. I am trying to improve my performance and suggest that you work to improve your tone and suggestions to those who are new to Wikipedia editing.
Thank you- Carew 12 2600:1015:A020:CA63:8524:6B9E:313C:7E51 (talk) 23:24, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
