Edit rather than delete
[edit]Per the Tony Evers page, you would make it easier for other editors if you found alternate sources to official sources that you disagree with rather than deleting factual content. If you disagree with a source, it is best just to Google it and find if there are other (in this case, many) alternative sources rather than deleting the item entirely. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Edward Blum (activist). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DonIago (talk) 14:31, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Political Attack Adds
[edit]I undid an item you reverted and published before I entered the reason -- I did put it on the talk page. here is the reason: == Inclusion of attack ads == I propose including a short, neutrally written section on "Political attacks / Attack ads." These ads are covered in reliable sources such as the Akron Beacon Journal, Cleveland.com, Ohio Capital Journal, Washington Post, and New York Times. Because Sykes represents a highly competitive district, repeated negative advertising campaigns have drawn significant press attention and are part of her documented political history. The content will be framed neutrally: who aired the ads, what claims they made, and how independent sources evaluated them. This follows precedent in other congressional biographies and aligns with WP:DUE, WP:V, and WP:NPOV. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TruthIsCurious (talk • contribs) 11:03, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Jason Miyares
[edit]Hey there,
You've put several welcome messages on my talk pages over the years. My IP bounces quite a bit and mostly contribute to Virginia state politics and some federal politics and election results.
Anyway, a user removed a lot of content off Jason Miyares's page (some of it you welcomed me / thanked me for) and I was wondering if you could look at it and replace the things you find unfair for removal. Some of it makes absolutely no sense to me like getting rid of the elder abuse initiative the first for metro Richmond that the AG office set up or the lastgest housing settlement ever secured in Virginia by the AG Office.
I'd like an independent look at it. I think the page is getting a lot of traction after the Jay Jones scandal and users and turning to Miyares now unfairly. 216.103.177.73 (talk) 16:13, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- Probably best to discuss content issues at Talk:Jason Miyares. I took a look at recent removals and it looks like some promotional stuff was removed. I don't see a problem. What specific content are you looking to re-add? Can you re-write it in a more neutral fashion and ensure that it is covered in independent sources? Marquardtika (talk) 16:26, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
All of it was independently sourced by reliable sources. The housing settlement was argued by the AG Office, the largest in the state's history, makes no sense to remove it. The job fairs and veteran clinics are ongoing, not a one time affair. The drug prosecutions from the AG Office have caused VA tto have the strongest drug related death decline in the country. I guess I'll just add it back trimmed with another source(s). 216.103.177.73 (talk) 16:47, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Concern about political issue
[edit]Hi user:Marquardtika, I wanted to flag that your deletion of my recent edit on Ritchie Torres, a U.S. politician, was inconsistent with WP policy. You removed the word "controversial" from describing the congressman's policy on Israel. The subject is not just controversial -- it is only notable because of its controversy. If you delete the word "controversial," you risk whitewashing the article and denying readers important encyclopedic information about the subject. Mihir.pethe1 (talk) 05:12, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- "Controversial" is a subjective term. Do you have sourcing that says his policy on Israel is controversial? It seems to me a matter of opinion--it's controversial to people who don't like his policies (any of a politician's policies on anything can be deemed "controversial" by people who disagree with those policies). Question on Dan Huberty Wikipedia page
[edit]Hi there — thanks for your recent edits to the Dan Huberty page. I noticed some changes to the legislative history section and the photo. I wanted to reach out and understand your perspective so we can make sure the page stays accurate and follows Wikipedia’s guidelines.
I work with Dan Huberty and am helping ensure the article is up to date — for example, noting that he is now retired from the Texas House, serves as CEO of MoakCasey, and owns Capitol Cafe in Austin. I also noticed the photo keeps reverting; the professional photo from the Texas Legislature website seems to meet Wikipedia’s fair use and quality standards, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’m new to editing Wikipedia and really want to collaborate rather than cause any conflicts. Could we discuss these changes here and reach a consensus on what’s appropriate per Wikipedia’s sourcing and neutrality policies?

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]
Hello, Marquardtika. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Morgan & Morgan, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Generation Progress when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

[edit]The essay title is confusing so I understandyour confusion. But it is about notability. "This page in a nutshell: There are some items that are very commonplace for which sources verifying their existence do exist. But there are so many of these that can be verified given the same sources, it would be better not to have a separate article on each and every one of them." Doug Weller talk 20:07, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: Yes, WP:MILL wasn't the right thing to link. But my meaning was that the fact that a Discovery Institute staffer appeared on a t.v. show is very run of the mill, as in not particularly noteworthy. Maybe I meant more like a "laundry list". I think it comes off as promotional in organizational and individual articles when we say things like "they appeared on XYZ media outlets..." Marquardtika (talk) 20:10, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Chris Hohn introduction
[edit]Hello! We had been discussing the Chris Hohn article introduction briefly back in December. I am curious if you're still interested in working on that? I posted a shortened request on Talk:Chris Hohn. Cheers. 2012duke21 (talk) 19:15, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Edits to Dan Huberty page
[edit]Hi there, I recently made a few edits to the Dan Huberty page, including adding a section highlighting awards he received during his time as a Texas legislator. The information was fully sourced and intended to maintain a neutral tone. Could you share why that section was removed, or offer any guidance on how it could be adjusted to better align with editing standards?
Thank you! Themach1group (talk) 16:21, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Themach1group: As I've posted on your talk page, I'm concerned about your WP:COI as well as your user name, which appears to imply that you are not an individual, but a group (or representative of a group?)--please see Wikipedia:Username policy and WP:SHAREDACCOUNT. Marquardtika (talk) 17:03, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I am a representative of a group but do not share this account with anyone. Could you provide guidance on how to change my username? And I believe I have already stated my COI on previous edits to Dan Huberty's page. Do I need to restate it every time I make an edit?
- Thanks so much! Themach1group (talk) 17:10, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- You can request to change your user name at Wikipedia:Changing username. And you need to post a COI disclosure on your user talk page per WP:DISCLOSE. Lastly, since you have a disclosed COI, you can make edit requests on the talk page via Template:Edit COI. Please also read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Marquardtika (talk) 17:14, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I have established the COI on my user page. Appreciate the guidance! Themach1group (talk) 17:19, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
