Census updates

[edit]

Please be aware that the U.S. Census Bureau has not released full datasets for cities and is not scheduled to until May of next year. To make updates to city articles easier, it's best to wait until we have a full set comparable to the 2010 sections, especially for articles that have been assessed to a higher standard (such as good articles and featured articles). Also, there was a weak consensus to not present 2020 data in the same manner of previous censuses, due primarily to changes in methodology and the increase in the number of people who changed their racial/ethnic identities. The Census Bureau actually cautioned between direct comparisons between 2010 and 2020 data to avoid confusion, and seems to be moving away from lumping everyone who selects more than one race into a single category. See also Talk:United States/Archive 100#How to approach 2020 census data (ethnicity and race). Bneu2013 (talk) 04:46, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
