Elsie Effah Kaufmann[edit]

Welcome aboard, and thank you for your enthusiasm in editing.

I just undid your edits to the page Elsie Effah Kaufmann. What new information you added did not include a reference, and particularly for articles on living people, Wikipedia really wants information that can be verified. Most of your changes, however, were adding Wikilinks to things like the names of months. I understand the instinct to want to link to anything that Wikipedia might have an article on, but that can end up with almost every word linked. Instead, we generally link to things that will help people understand the topic of the page better. So so if we say someone attended the University of Whatever, that's a great thing to link to, because understanding what sort of school they attended helps us understand the person. However, linking to August isn't going to tell us much of anything, because the reader already knows it's a month, and it is unlikely that we will understand anything on a person's Wikipedia page better because we know the history of August. (In contrast, if there's a page on the history of calendars, a link to August would probably be a good idea.)

We all make missteps in our early edits. Don't let it dissuade you, there is much good to be done here! --Nat Gertler (talk) 21:32, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
