Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Charlie and The Bhoys has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bfacebook\.com' (link(s): http://www.http://en-gb.facebook.com/people/Charlie-Bhoys/1061900171/) .

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Your reason here - I simply set up the user name charlieandthebhoys as I was creating the page regarding the band. I'd like to change my user name to one that represents myself

Decline reason:

Per battleground behavior below. Accusing everyone you disagree with of "agenda" isn't something we tolerate here. Max Semenik (talk) 20:45, 19 February 2017 (UTC) Only keeping it factual. Maybe doing so in the non conventional wiki-way was my mistake, you learn from them.[reply]
You will have to specify your new username in the template where it currently says "new username" --AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 18:00, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've been naive in the editing but read up on it and the proper way to do so (my last edits). The page was being vandalised which is why I edited. I know now how to go about it in the proper manner. All original text was removed/deleted/vandalised 7th Feb by Uamaol and changed to fiction. The only reason I edited. The link stating Canary Weekly News and the copy and paste issue is completely different text to which I put, and was on the page. If it's read properly this can be seen. I previously had a page regarding the band and it was deleted years ago (no references on it etc). The Canary Weekly used the text from the old wiki page on their article.

Charlie and the Bhoys

[edit]

I notice that you made an edit to the Charlie and the Bhoys article, reverting my removal of copyrighted material. Could you please refrain from this in future. Also, I have noticed your username is the same as that of the article. Are you in anyway connected to the band? Thanks. Uamaol (talk) 13:25, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - made the wikipedia page. It's my page to edit. Why do you keep changing it?
You can't claim ownership over articles. How are you connected with the band? Uamaol (talk) 14:10, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not claiming ownership. Who are you? How do you know I'm connected with the band?
You are claiming ownership as you are reverting my constructive edits to the article. You are not allowed to copy and paste material to Wiki, which the material you keep adding comes from a website in the Canaries. Also you said yourself "It's my page to edit. Why do you keep changing it?". It's not your page. Any user can edit it. Your recent changes are unconstructive, such as removing the history section which I added, along with references. I am the wiki user you keep reverting. I don't know if you are, which is why I keep asking! Uamaol (talk) 14:15, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Canaries??? Sorry you've lost me here. Who are you - if you tell me who you are then I'll let you know who I am.
OK you are back to the "my page bit again". I meant I set it up and I know it can get edited. You deleted all the original text the first time you edited the page. You have also put on things that aren't fact - that gets changed.
Firstly, the content you keep adding comes from this website [1]. Wikipedia does not allow for content to be copy and pasted. I am UaMaol, a user that is trying to improve the article. All I want to know is how you are connected to the band! Where have I added things which are not fact? If you contest something, put a note on the talk page. You are edit warring. Uamaol (talk) 14:26, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but it isn't copied and pasted from a website 100%. Are you talking about the link above? That can be removed. If you contested the original page content why didn't you do that instead of deleting it all? Why can't you tell me who you are? If you want to improve the article then you can, but with facts. you put 3 things on that were completely wrong.
So you're admitting that there it is copy-pasted? Compare: [2] to [3]. I have already told you who I am. Are you going to answer my question or not? Facts must be backed up by sources. What gives you the authority to say what is fact and what isn't? Are you connected to the band? Uamaol (talk) 14:38, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't get all the copy and paste. If you have a link to put on you'd use the link from a website. What is the agenda here? You still haven't remarked on my comments regarding you deleting all the text and replacing it with your own. That isn't surely the way to do things.
What was your copyright material. Are you connected with the band?
A-One Music (Your edit in labels) is not a label of the band also.
I get you now with the copy and paste from the website. I think you'll find they copied and pasted that on to their article from the charlie and the bhoys wikipedia page. That's quite common.

"I don't get all the copy and paste. If you have a link to put on you'd use the link from a website.", I don't understand. There is no agenda. Do you have an agenda? I certainly don't! As I have said multiple times, the content you keep re-adding is from another website, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. My history section and lead re-write is an effort in improving the article. I don't understand why you are so hostile to this. If you care so much about the article, I would have thought you would be welcoming this. Also the first part of the History section you have not yet contested, which makes your removal automatic vandalism. I gave a reason in the summary as to why I removed information. You didn't. "What was your copyright material", excuse me? Regarding A-One Music here, here, here here and here all say otherwise! Uamaol (talk) 15:07, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The content isn't from a website. The website used Wikipedia to copy to their site. If you check the date of their site against charlieandthebhoys Wikipedia page you'll see that that was on Wikipedia before they copied and pasted it. I feel that's quite simple. Yes A-one has CDs for sale online. It is not a CATB LABEL. It's a company selling CDs. You mentioned copyright material not me. I'm asking you what was your material that was copyright? I welcome help. Not the whole page being edited and changed with incorrect info. If you want to help let me know who you are? I'm a band member. Have been for a long time. There you go. Answered.
I checked this before I removed the content check again just now. Both disprove what you've said. This article was created at 00:44, 9 May 2015. This news article [4] (The one from the Canaries) was published on July 17 2009. That's 5 years and 10 months before hand. Unless they had a time machine, I highly doubt they copied Wiki! I have 5 sources which say otherwise. Unless you can find a source which says they are only distribute for the band it stands. How Do I know you are a reliable source? Why should we take your word for it? "I'm asking you what was your material that was copyright?" can you please re-write this, it's not very clear what you are asking. You may welcome help but I added a much needed history section which you section blanked! I also asked you to provide sources for such edits but you still haven't done so.
Thanks for finally admitting a connection. I suggest you have a read of WP:COI and WP:PLAINANDSIMPLECOI. You have a Conflict of Interest with this article. I suggest you stop editing it and only make suggestions to what needs changing on the talk page. Thanks for your time. Uamaol (talk) 16:35, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
EDIT: I have no agenda, other than that of improving articles which I have an interest in. I've known about the band since my childhood and have many of their CD's. I don't want to be a pain in the arse, but Wikipedia has rules and styles which should be adhered too, even to the minimum. Uamaol (talk) 16:39, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure of the in's and out's of editing comments and the proper manner. Im going read up. Your original edit (deleting it all and adding a paragraph - is that vandalism?) surely doesn't meet their rules? 7th Feb I think it was.

Things you are adding haven't been correct. It's meant to be factual. I don't understand why you feel the need to add things that aren't correct. You still haven't said who you are. You can contact me on the Facebook page if you want to discuss. It's good you have listened to us for years but you've obviously read or heard things that don't amount to fact. Maybe I edited them in the not wiki way. I'm going to read up on this. As for the history section you created. It was a very negative history of the band. The history of the band I feel is covered at the top of the page. The page has only had minor edits over the years and has functioned as it's meant to.

As for the copy and paste. You'll find we had a wiki page before which wiki removed as links weren't clear etc. I set up a new one. They can probably confirm this. It was the same text. If I check my records I could probably confirm when the 1st page was made.

Out to enjoy my mothers birthday and I have to deal with wiki. No real. Anyway.

You changed all the wording again to our own. You have an agenda. You are vandalising the page. I have contact Wikipedia will all the information and copied this conversation.

I refuse to keep this going.

The 6th of Feb I believe you mean. I removed the content with a reason: "rm COPYVIO http://www.canarianweekly.com/the-bhoys-are-in-town/". This is an adequate reason to remove content from articles as per policy. Wikipedia is a place for free information and as a result at risk from being sued. To prevent this, editors are requested to remove all said violations and aim improve said article in question, which is exactly what I'm doing! I've only added things which have web sources to back it up, otherwise I would not have added it. If you feels something I've added is incorrect, make a note on the articles talk page and explain why the sources given are wrong and provide a source which proves this otherwise its just your word which sadly doesn't cut it. Regarding my name, read here: Wikipedia:Wikipedia is anonymous. I'd prefer to have contact with you here only.
I do not see how the history section portrays the band in a negative view. I've written it from a neutral standpoint, leaving out anything which could be considered controversial, such as to why said Rangers fans wanted to ban ye. In hindsight such things should added to maintain accuracy, but it could be seen as a direct attack on the band, which I strived not to achieve. History of the band should be in the history section not the lead. The lead is a summary of the article, a bit like the blurb of a book. Also, how did the article function to way it was supposed to? What was the article supposed to do?
I see on your talk page there was a previous article but I have no way of confirming the content. With this said, the content is unsourced and to an extent uncylopædic. The article was created by User:Rabthekebab. Was this you? If so, why didn't you create it with this username?
As I previously told you, You have a CoI with the article, which invalidates all your edits, especially ones which are already in discussion, and warned you to stop editing. If you hadn't already been banned by a certain spoil sport I would have put a warning notice on your talk page. Also I don't see any mention of contacting Wiki in your history. Good luck though but you probably won't get very far considering you've already been banned for more than one of these reasons. Uamaol (talk) 18:34, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Band members have contacted. You have an agenda it's plain to see. The Canary article is quite different also if you read it all. Besides that. I don't see why you are hiding editing the page. The band wasn't formed in Barlanark and you are putting it in without proof of that fact.
Have contacted what? What is my agenda? Have a look at the COPYVIO link, it shows exactly what was copied. Hiding? What are you talking about? If the band wasn't formed in Barlanark, why do you keep adding it yourself? Here, here, here and here. All opf these reverts show Barlanark. All of these are your edits!
