Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Chitheenabler. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Anne Kabagambe, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 18:00, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Copying from 41.155.34.104 (talk · contribs). Hi, thank you for your reply. Do you work for or represent Anne Kabagambe? If so, please see the conflict of interest guidance, and use WP:REQUESTEDIT on the article's Talk page rather than editing the article directly. You also say "our" and "we" - Wikipedia accounts must be used by single individuals, not shared by a group. Tacyarg (talk) 13:14, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Tacyarg,
- Thank you for your prompt response. Yes, I work for Anne Kabagambe and assist in managing her Wikipedia presence. I appreciate your guidance on adhering to Wikipedia's conflict of interest policies.
- I'm committed to following the appropriate procedures for any edits related to Anne Kabagambe's article. However, the reference to WP:REQUESTEDIT in your message is not clear on how to proceed. Could you please provide more specific instructions or guidance on utilizing WP:REQUESTEDIT for the article's Talk page?
- I want to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's standards and appreciate your assistance in navigating this process.
- Best regards,
- Chithenabler Chitheenabler (talk) 14:05, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your reply. The conflict of interest guidance should be reasonably straightforward to follow I think - are you having difficulty with specific aspects of it? You will need to make a disclosure that you are a paid contributor. There is guidance about making an edit request which should be helpful. The basics are, write any texts you want to add in a neutral way, so not "Her story is one of resilience and boundless dedication" unless you have a reliable, independent, published source which says that; and provide references. The teahouse is a good venue for friendly support. I will keep an eye on Anne Kabagambe's page, so if you make an edit request I may be able to action it. Use of the template means that other editors will see it too and may also be able to make the changes. Tacyarg (talk) 14:58, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, you are continuing to edit the article and have not made a paid contributor disclosure. Please do so. You say "we" in your edit summary - are you sharing this account? Tacyarg (talk) 10:54, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, I've already checked the Treehouse discussion, which is why I proceeded with the edits based on the feedback given. I've thoroughly reviewed the changes to ensure there's no conflict; I'm not compensated for this role; I'm simply assisting in managing her Wikipedia presence. I value your guidance on complying with Wikipedia's conflict of interest policies. If I've missed something, it should be noted either on the user page or the talk page. As of now, I haven't posted anything on the user page, but I believe I've addressed these concerns in the ongoing conversation thread. Chitheenabler (talk) 12:24, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 20:25, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- I want to express my appreciation for your guidance on the conflict of interest matter. I have been diligently following the provided guidance to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's policies.
- However, I have encountered some challenges in locating the specific section or procedure to make the necessary disclosures. I am keen on fully adhering to Wikipedia's policies and ensuring transparency regarding any potential conflicts of interest related to my contributions.
- Unfortunately, I am unable to send a screenshot to illustrate the issue I am facing. Would it be possible for someone to assist me in navigating this process through a call or any other means? I am getting increasingly frustrated due to my inability to find the correct section for disclosure.
- Your assistance or guidance in connecting with someone who can help me work through this process would be immensely appreciated. I am committed to resolving this matter promptly and in accordance with Wikipedia's guidelines.
- Thank you for your understanding and assistance. Chitheenabler (talk) 22:04, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think it is unlikely that you will find editors who are prepared to call you. You could try the teahouse to see if anyone there has suggestions. Tacyarg (talk) 22:35, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- While I understand that arranging calls may not be a common practice, I'm eager to resolve the conflict of interest matter and comply with Wikipedia's policies. Unfortunately, I haven't found a clear path to disclosure, and I'm concerned about the repeated revocation of edits without a clear resolution.
- If there's anyone within the Wikipedia community who could provide further guidance or clarification on the COI disclosure process, it would be immensely helpful. I want to ensure that my contributions align with Wikipedia's standards and that I can actively address any potential conflicts of interest.
- If the Teahouse is the suggested avenue, I will certainly explore that option. However, I believe it's crucial to have a clear understanding of the COI disclosure process to avoid unintentional policy violations. Chitheenabler (talk) 22:49, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- You are paid (WP:PAID)). Declare such on your User page and do not edit the article directly. Instead, propose specific changes on the Talk page of the article. David notMD (talk) 14:52, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

Minor means minor
[edit]See WP:MINOR for when to tag your edits as minor. David notMD (talk) 14:51, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
Not logged in
[edit]From the edit history at AK, clear that you have been editing not logged in - hence edits shown as coming from an IP address - and logged in. Wikipedia considers that Sockpuppetry, which is grounds for being indefinitely blocked. And as you have declared paid, you should not be using any account to edit the article. Useless additions
[edit]Text such as "She was immersed in a household where a commitment to public service was not just a profession but a way of life. This upbringing instilled in her a profound sense of responsibility and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education." are clearly promotional and have no valid reason to be in the article. Stick to facts, not opinions, and again, as proposed changes at the Talk page of the article. David notMD (talk) 15:02, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to seek guidance on activating a paid contributor for Anne Kabagambe's Wikipedia page. As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance her online presence, we've identified the need for a professional contributor.
- Additionally, I've been working on addressing content concerns raised during the editing process. I understand the importance of adhering to Wikipedia's guidelines and eliminating promotional language. I've diligently reviewed and edited the text, taking care to remove any content that could be perceived as promotional.
- For instance, the text you pointed out, "She was immersed in a household where a commitment to public service was not just a profession but a way of life. This upbringing instilled in her a profound sense of responsibility and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education," has been revised to align with factual information.
- I would greatly appreciate your assistance in activating the paid contributor and any additional guidance you can provide to ensure the article meets Wikipedia's standards. Chitheenabler (talk) 12:39, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
