[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Stevenpienaar.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 21:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:610x.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.daylife.com/photo/04Tp5Sa6JNfwt. As a copyright violation, Image:610x.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:610x.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:610x.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:610x.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:610x.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. MilborneOne (talk) 20:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:610x.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:610x.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:21, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Samsung U900 Soul

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Samsung U900 Soul, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Exxolon (talk) 21:23, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It comes under WP:NOT, specifically Wikipedia:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_an_indiscriminate_collection_of_information. Mobile phones as a complete subject are notable. Samsung are notable. Phone ranges are possibly or possibly not notable. Individual phones are not unless there's something unique about them that satisfies WP:NOTABILITY and more important have been reported on in reliable sources. If you disagree with the prod nomination you have the right to remove it. However the article may well be taken to AFD instead. Exxolon (talk) 21:40, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

zavvi photo

[edit]

Please stop adding your photo to the zavvi article twice. It currently is placed in both the history and stores sections, as you will be currently able to see. Also, just a little note of advice, you should name your photographs in a useful informative way. --TubularWorld (talk) 18:53, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
