Reference needed[edit]

Hi, you recently added some information to Frederic Austin. Any chance of a reference? Or maybe you want I should revert your unsubstantiated edits, as an IP? That would be quite funny, actually, considering the general tenor of this talk page. >MinorProphet (talk) 22:14, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks MP you are welcome to challenge the edits by either removing or tagging, that said I will get back and add some refs in a mo. MilborneOne (talk) 09:08, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Sorry about my brusque message, I was falling asleep at the time and realise now that I hadn't read Wikipedia:Etiquette for some time. Thanks for your interest. >MinorProphet (talk) 17:42, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Michael, could you semi-protect HMCS Bonaventure (CVL 22) for a few weeks? An IP is adding fringe theories again, and making insults and personal attacks in edit summaries. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 19:49, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Stanley Nomad[edit]

This article has been under attack by an IP for the last few days. I have carefully explained the problem with the edits on the IP's talk page, but he continues to vandalize the article. Can you "semi" it please? - Ahunt (talk) 12:12, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Green tickY Not sure the IP has actually read the article, but we can give them a chance to explain who Mr. Nomad is. MilborneOne (talk) 16:29, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
I know it isn't amusing, but it really is :-P ScrpIronIV 17:24, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Facepalm3.svg Facepalm Vandalism or lack of competence. Either way, their edits are unconstructive, and they need to be blocked until the clue stick works, if it ever does. Yes, it's funny in the way that stupidity (intentional or not) can be funny, but this isn't Uncyclopedia. - BilCat (talk) 17:54, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the thoughts on this. The IP seems to have gone for now, perhaps they finally read my note to them? - Ahunt (talk) 18:01, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

MH 370[edit]

I did a rollback of the IP, only to be reverted whilst leaving a uw-3rr on their talk page. Will let that one go, but any more shenanigans and its banhammer time. Article may need semi-protection, but it seems to be just the one IP atm. Mjroots (talk) 18:42, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Destination Maps[edit]

Could you provide a link to a disscussion where the consensus reached is to not have destination maps listed? As I am having trouble with 2 users as they continue to add destination maps to Nuuk Airport, Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and Zurich Airport. RMS52 (talk) 09:24, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

RMS52 if you put "Destination Maps" in the talk page search window on the airport talk page you will see a few discussions on the subject. Perhaps in the ongoing discussion on that talk page we need to get a clear agreement to make a definitive statement at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports/page content about these maps. An old "friend"[edit]

Hi MilborneOne. I suspect that obsessive IP that caused great disruption to the B-17, B-24 & B-25 articles is back. The MO is the same, the use of language, the strange inserts into mainspace texts, etc. North American P-51 Mustang variants is his /her new interest. Going under the name NavalWarrior. Can you take a look? Cheers! Irondome (talk) 14:17, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Irondome watching for now to see if they come back or cause issues elsewhere. MilborneOne (talk) 15:36, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

EgyptAir Flight 667[edit]

G'day. EgyptAir Flight 667 popped up on my Watchlist yesterday as a newly-created article. The fact that it is on my Watchlist suggests that it is a reincarnation of a deleted article. Are you able to use your powers to see what the situation is? Cheers YSSYguy (talk) 03:02, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

YSSYguy It was deleted as a creation by banned User:Ryan kirkpatrick so probably needs to be proded and/or put up for deletion as not really notable. The new user is probably blocked User:Babestress who has a bit of a fetish for KLM Flight 1673 but just needs a bit more rope. MilborneOne (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

I am pretty sure we dont use drawings in articles if the real thing exists as they are really original research and we have no evidence that they reflect the real thing. This user appears to want to add home-made drawings in articles and does have a concept of size! MilborneOne (talk) 12:29, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
The LATAM A320 image is definitely original research, as the actual aircraft colour scheme is being kept secret until next year; see this story for one. He's protesting Nick's reverts on the B-24 and B-25 of another IP address, stating, "I have never used an alternate IP AND YOUR ACCUSATIONAL TO THE CONTRAY ARE FALSE, MISINFORMED AND MALICIOUS", while using an alternate IP address to make the post! This one too: "I have NEVER avoided a block and have so stated this on several occassions". Hilarious. - BilCat (talk) 17:58, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps we need to mention the "you not only are abusing your administrative permissions, your dangeriously close to violating my rights as a citizen of nation that signature to international aggreements. I trust you can relate this message to billcat, milborneone and bill zuk with whom you conspire." on the ANI page. It is clearly evidence he has not listened to anything that has been said to him. User talk:AgustinusHal[edit]

This edit to his own userpage seems very odd, and seems like flaunting that he's been blocked on another username. Most of his other edits aren't productive either, especially on others' talk pages. A Checkuser might prove interesting. - BilCat (talk) 02:04, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

User:Cyntiamaspian has some edits on the BBJ page, but I haven't had a chance to compare the edits to see if there's any similarities.- BilCat (talk) 02:57, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
I suspect you are right, just need some duck evidence. MilborneOne (talk) 09:37, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
Found enough evidence for me on User:YSSYguys user page so I have blocked the account, raised an SPI but didnt realise somebody had already opened one yesterday! Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cyntiamaspian MilborneOne (talk) 10:14, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
I actually wasn't certain they were the same, so thanks for checking it out enough for a duck block. I was headed to bed when I posted, so I didn't have enough time to look deeply myself. It's funny what people think they can get away with, but I guess some are like Ryan K and think it's a game. - BilCat (talk) 11:52, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
  • User:Nrwairport appears to be another one, same harassment of YSSY, and same false claims on user page of being an admin, ,etc. - BilCat (talk)
Certainly strange behaviour from somebody who claims to have had over 500,000 edits in a former account, but I am not seeing enough to prove it one way or the other, I suspect from the way he is starting to annoy others with deletion messages that it will not be long before they upset the wrong people. MilborneOne (talk) 09:55, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
It does appear I'm wrong on that one, the user has claimed they lost their password on the account that has 500,000 edits, and has a better grasp of English than this sock farm. The unprovoked harassment of YSSY is still odd in this case. - BilCat (talk) 19:50, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
User:Nrwairport has been indef blocked for disruptive editing and NOTHERE. The appeal might make interesting reading, assuming the user doesn't just create a new account. - BilCat (talk) 16:11, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
Yup, his appeals and the subsequent discussions wthe.reviewing admins and other editors was very interesting! The end result was a complete indefinite block, per this diff. Btw, the sock investigation proved he wasn't related to the Cyntiamaspian sock farm, but did turn up one sock of his, which oddly only made sandbox edits. Hopefully he will stay away, but I doubt it. - BilCat (talk) 11:19, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
It shows what happens when you dig yourself a big hole, instinct says that if they was here before they have been blocked before. MilborneOne (talk) 11:36, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, that was the consensus of the admins/editors on his talk page. The RFA attempt was just plain strange though. I had a look at an article he edited, American Airlines, and there are at least two users who edited that page who were blocked for being disruptive. I didn't try to compare the edits, but I might later. I'll try to watch a few on the other articles he edited, and see if a new user shows up making similar edits. - BilCat (talk)
Just for stalker info User:AyuLestri91 - new account claims to be a Adminstrator and goes straight to the BBJ articles and reverts User:YSSYguy, bagged and tagged and raised at SPI. MilborneOne (talk) 20:56, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks Mb, the two are clearly the same person - AyuLestri91 has gone out of his way to create a false edit summary, just as Agustinus did with most of his edits. I have been through my edits to the BBJ article, I have been through my User contributions and I did not make an edit with Revision number 676323188 anywhere on WP. This edit to my own Talk page on 16 August is Rev. No. 676314549; this is the next edit I made, eight hours later, Rev. No. 676358042. The edit summary is the work of an experienced User in my opinion. However, AyuLestri91's edit was correct, in that the MMO of a 747 is M0.92 or M.90 depending on the model; but it was Agustinus that changed the figure, in one of his edits on 24 July. I find it all rather bizarre. YSSYguy (talk) 22:18, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Talk page already attempted...[edit]

Hello Milborne One! Sorry to disturb You "at home" - but If You take a look at the talk-page of F-35, You can see that I already have tried that. If there is something undue, is it simply due to the fact that I have not been able to find any American or NATO comments. I have searched around, but cannot find more neutral sources than Swedish "Svenska Dagbladet". And also pointed out in the text, that it indeed is Russian and written in propaganda formate. It could be balanced with opposite statements, and be better NPOV in that way. But as I've stated, I can't find US or NATO comments. So, OK the destoyer part is perhaps not importaint regarding the F-35, but isn't really not the Borisoglebsk 2 worth mentioning in this context ? "Svenska Dagbladet" is probably the most reliable Swedish newspaper (And dispite its pysical format is it a morning paper, not a tabloid. Perhaps could I make a shorter version ? Boeing720 (talk) 21:19, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Nothing really to add that has not been said on the talk page by othrs. MilborneOne (talk) 11:45, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Airline orders in airline info boxes[edit]

When I am looking at the fleets of airlines I like to have the fleet size along with its orders in the information boxes which is at the top of each article. If they were to be included it would help me a lot and maybe others too. Please think about this.

I've warned him not to do this here[3] and referred him to talk page guidelines. He also blanked sections[4] and removed photos and references[5] at Gatwick Airport. He's also made false and misleading edit summaries. I dont think they added it originally, they did a similar edit to the see also section, probably enough for a message about using the talk page discussion so they understand why things are being challenged. MilborneOne (talk) 18:29, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

List of Airliner Loss Of Control...[edit]

I agree with your comment that this article [[6]] should be deleted. A poorly written article -- probably the worst one I have seen in Wikipedia. Besides its not having the required WP:RS cites, there isn't any important information in it that is not already covered in other Wiki articles. I am curious, why wasn't it deleted? No one objected except the original author who did nothing to address the problems. EditorASC (talk) 08:53, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, if the proposed deletion was removed I should have raised it at WP:Articles for Deletion for discussion, probably just forgot but now you have mentioned it perhaps I will have another look at it. MilborneOne (talk) 10:55, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
