What's this for?

Hello, Circlingsky! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions to this free encyclopedia. If you decide that you need help, check out Getting Help below, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Below are some useful links to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -  Hi from New Zealand. Sorry to have caused offence to you or your great uncle: none was intended. From what you say you've been here before so you probably have an idea of how things work. Just in case you've forgotten there is plenty of information to help out. Cheers!Minorhistorian (talk) 23:23, 20 September 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 12:20, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RAAF Mustangs

[edit]

I've made some changes to the information you've posted on the RAAF Mustangs: as you can see I've linked the Squadron histories and States to other Wikipedia articles. When you're adding citations the accepted style is author date(no comma between), p.X. for page, pp.X-Y. for pages. It took me a while to get the hang of it...I won't be around a computer for the next week or so so if you have any queries other editors like Rlandmann, Nimbus227 or Bzuk are fairly friendly - just click on the blue underlined names.Enjoy editing, cheers!Minorhistorian (talk) 00:12, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I don't bite!! Just had a great day out at the Shuttleworth Collection, lots of photos taken for the project. I'm not so good with the technicalities here but am always happy to help if I can. Cheers. Nimbus (talk) 17:52, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

[edit]

Hi Circlingsky. It's always nice to see someone voluntarily taking a step back when they feel they've crossed the line. Probably the best thing to do is just to edit the talk pages in question and just remove your remarks from them. You can leave an apology in the edit summary. --Rlandmann (talk) 18:13, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spitfire Stuff

[edit]

No problem, I for one wouldn't say it was a attack. I can see this is a sensitive subject for you. I think that you misunderstand my intentions, as you do Minorhistorians. The trouble centres around the attempt by one person to rewrite the history of ths machine in a way that implies it was troublesome to operate and somewhat inferior to the German types. My posts were not connected the losses of the Spitfire or the pilots that flew them (for the most part). Contrary to Rlandmann's comments, I will not voluntarily stand back from anything if I see a flagrant injustice, whether it be in the article itself or against me personally. I guess he and I are different breeds. Regards, Dapi89 (talk) 21:32, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No probs, aren't we all! I think your comments have hit the nail on the head. There is indeed a pattern related to that particular editor and the contributions to the said pages. Such a contrast between them isn't there? This is where the problem lies, and it seems we are in agreement. Unfortunately, while I take your points on board as will others, I think one of those involved will not. Dapi89 (talk) 13:25, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
