Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Brianomeararugby.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Brianomeararugby.jpg and also as Image:Brian O'Meararugby.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 22:16, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Brian o'meara (Gaelic Football), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Duplicate article of Brian o'mara

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TellyaddictTalk 18:00, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Brian o'mara

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Brian o'mara, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position.

Pekaje 18:01, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from an article you created, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. TellyaddictTalk 18:11, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am now reporting you to administrators, despite several warnings you continue to re-create dleted articles and removed speedy deletion tags, you will most probably be blocked shortly.TellyaddictTalk 18:14, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because a Disambiguation page should be created. Seriously please stop removing speedy deletion tags off articles, it could get you blocked and I haven't reported you yet and I'm assuming good faith but if you do it again I will have to report you as its against policy.TellyaddictTalk 18:19, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Its fine, you made a mistake, when an admin who goes to delete the page see's the {{hangon}} he/she will make the final decision. TellyaddictTalk 18:24, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Brian O'Mara is not the appropriate place to post information about yourself, because it is in the part of Wikipedia where encyclopaedic articles are written. A "userpage" at User:Corkirish, however, is available for personal information about yourself. When adding personal information please remember that Wikipedia is not MySpace. Your userpage is for anything that is compatible with the Wikipedia project. It is a mistake to think of it as a homepage: Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. My apologies though if you're not this person, but telling from all(!) your previous wiki contributions you seem to be. I have speedy-tagged the article, since it sounds like advertising and lacks notablity for a wikipedia article. – sgeureka tc 17:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(copied from User talk:Sgeureka) Hi there, I appreciate your message on Brian's homepage but I'm not him. He is an up and coming Gaelic Footballer here in Ireland, it's our biggest national sport-bigger than soccer or rugby. How can I put the page back up and ensure it is not deleted in error again? People are so negative on this encyclopedia, I've had loads of interest in the page from Cork GAA fans and Gaelic football fans in general here in Ireland. Please see Peter Canavan and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín's page for further examples of Gaelic Footballers/Hurlers. Thanks, C Corkirish 19:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find some (local?) online newspaper links that say why and how O'Mara is notable, that would help a lot in not getting the article deleted immediately. :-) Also try to avoid sounding like a fan in the article (I know that's really hard to do from my own experience :-)) and stay NPOV as possible. It's just that I got rather skeptic from your contributions and the amount of already deleted BO'M articles, and you also didn't use proper wiki linking; there are too many newly created wiki pages about non-notable things, people and sometimes even about wikipedians on wikipedia, so tagging them for deletion is usually the best while they're still on the Special:Newpages page. You might recreate the article if you obey the guidelines of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and WP:LINK for instance, and there shouldn't be any more problems with deletionists. :-) – sgeureka tc 19:53, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Brian O'Mara

[edit]

An editor has nominated Brian O'Mara, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brian O'Mara and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 15:59, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
