Welcome[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Just a thing about your edit here: please do not change the name of that country to "FYROM" again. We here on Wikipedia have a fixed policy on such naming issues (see WP:NCON, which says that we always follow the name that a country chooses for itself, and/or the name used by the majority of English speakers in common English usage. On both counts, the country is called "Macedonia", and in contexts where that might be ambiguous, we use "Republic of Macedonia" instead to make it clear. I know this is not very popular in Greece, and quite possibly in Cyprus too, but that's of no concern for us. Wikipedia must follow its own policies consistently, no matter whether that's popular or not among certain political groups.

Don't bother telling me why you perhaps think using that name for the country is historically outrageous – I know all about that, but Wikipedia still doesn't care.

Thank you, -- Fut.Perf. 20:48, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:APOEL FC Ultras AU.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:APOEL FC Ultras AU.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:57, 10 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 15:57, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your image uploads...[edit]

...are mostly of web resolution, appear to have been taken with different cameras, at least one was taken from a press-only position and at least one appears to have been copied. Not only is claiming the work of others as your own completely contrary to Wikipedia policy, but it is potentially illegal. Could you please explain what is going on here? J Milburn (talk) 14:16, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not reply soon, I am going to delete your uploads as a precaution. J Milburn (talk) 01:34, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay to reply. All of the photos are taken from my cameras as an athletic photographer. A few of them are given to website designers to improve their quality and use them for their websites. They send them back to me and choose some of them that are really improved and save them to my pc but most of my photos are being processed by me changing image quality, dimensions, histogram equalization, histogram specification and other techniques. I save them all to my pc and some of them I upload it here. Thank you for your time (talk) 16:30, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please excuse me if I appear a little over-suspicious- could you possibly upload the originals, rather than just the thumbnails? When you upload thumbnails, it really looks as if you have taken them from elsewhere... J Milburn (talk) 15:00, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
