That would make sense—it already says in the article that they're easily damaged when ripe. I think the parts separating the fruit into segments are called 'septa'--see the diagram here. Thomas Kluyver (talk) 12:14, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Aha. That's interesting--evidently there's enough interest in using it commercially for there to be scientists working on developing it.
