Welcome!

Hello, Creativehandbook1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Creativehandbook1, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Creativehandbook1, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. [edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Creativehandbook1) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Removing Speedy at User:Creativehandbook1

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from User:Creativehandbook1, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 22:27, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits

[edit]

Wikipedia is not a how-to site, it's an encyclopedia. This is not the appropriate venue for your type of edits. You may want to consider starting a blog on one of the several blogging sites. Corvus cornixtalk 22:30, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry. I will not post that kind of content. I will stick to citable articles that I right about the movie industry. Am I allowed to reference the company I work for when appropriate?

Please see Wikipedia's guideline on conflict of interest. If you wanted to use your company as a source, it might be best to edit the article's Discussion page with the content that you want to add, and let others view your edits to see if they agree that they're neutrally worded. If you want to write citeable information that doesn't reference your company, then you are more than welcome to do so. Corvus cornixtalk 22:34, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I will learn more about wikipedia guidlines before I start posting ignorantly again. Can you un-nominate me for deletion?

Remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature button at the top of the editing window on the toolbar.

You account will not be deleted. I nominated your userpage to be deleted. Crazymonkey1123 (Jacob) (Shout!) 22:49, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the user page anyway because what was on it was not suitable. User pages are intended for the volunteers who are here to help build the encyclopedia to say a little about themselves, if they choose, to help communication within the project. They are not for any sort of home page or blog - see WP:User page for more information.
I strongly suggest that you apply at WP:CHU for a new username - or simply abandon this account and set up a new one. Usernames that are, or appear to be, those of an organization are liable to be blocked, because Wikipedia accounts must be for individuals only, and because Wikipedia is extremely resistant to being used for any kind of promotion, particularly self-promotion.
The links at the top of the page will tell you more about Wikipedia: WP:Your first article is a good starting point. Also, if you plan to edit on anything to do with your organization, read WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest - basically, for anything where you have a COI, suggest the change you would like to make on a talk page and let uninvolved users decide. Similarly for articles, don't post them yourself, propose them at WP:Articles for creation.
