Help

[edit]

I need help putting up a picture.

Please be more specific, are you trying to upload a picture or use a picture that is already uploaded? --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:15, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're going to wanna upload it first. However, only Free-use images (and occasionally fair-use ones) are allowed on Wikipedia. If you are going to use an image you need to make sure the image is first licensed under the GFDL or in the Public Domain. To upload, visit Special:Upload. If you have any more question on uploading look at Wp:image#Uploading_images, or send me another message. If you have any question about GFDL or the public domain either look at WP:PD/WP:FU or send me a message. Hope I helped you. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:24, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the image located? And please read WP:SIG about signing your comments --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:28, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but I can't. The picture is owned by BBC and is subject to copyright. Using it here violates the copyright since it doesn't appear to qualify under Fair-use. Sorry I couldn't help you :-\ --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:36, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I don't have any pictures nor do I know any other places that have public domain pictures besides Wikimedia commons. If you want, you can re add the helpme template and see if another editor is able to find you one. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:41, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The only way for me to search for pictures would be to do a search on a search engine and 99% of all images that would come up would be copyright violations if used here. The only way i know of finding a free image besides looking on wikimedia commons would be if you went to one of his events and took a picture yourself. Sorry :( --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:45, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Using a picture from there would still violate US Copyright Laws. If we use a copyrighted picture it could cause legal troubles for the Wikimedia Foundation. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:49, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That was the first place I looked and they didn't have any :-\ --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 02:52, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to wikipedia and please let me know if you need any help. Regarding the edits that you made to Alimuddin, we are not allowed to use copyrighted content in wikipedia. Since the content that you added was copy-pasted from http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/38992.html , I have changed it back to the original form. Image tagging for Image:044513.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:044513.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the edits you made to Alimuddin because they were a copyvio. As you can see, User:Tintin1107 did the same thing for the same reason. If you could paraphrase what the cricinfo article says about Alimuddin rather than cut and paste it, we would be grateful. --Roisterer 00:32, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could include the first-class teams he played for within the body of the article. --Roisterer 04:16, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:044513.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 06:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
