No problem about the vote thing - I wasn't able to vote last year :-). I hope you'll still be around to maybe vote next time. WjBscribe 22:20, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Adding value: Deletion vs adding sources
[edit][1] Do you ever add sources instead of just deleting unsourced content? 66.92.182.62 (talk) 22:48, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Do you have any sources I could add? Thanks. CruftCutter 23:03, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Several points
[edit]About Search engine test, you're doing it wrong. First, search engine tests are not indicative of notability. Second, your search engine test was poorly formed for both search terms and operators and so gave a misleadingly low number of hits. A properly formed search engine test would be "Mims + Pianka" which returns 9100 + hits, rather that your "Mims-Pianka+controversy".
Considering these issues and the fact that this appears to only be your second day at Wikipedia, may I suggest that you refrain from AFD'ing articles until you have a better understanding of our goals and guidelines. I'm astonished to find an account that is only 2 days old has already AFD'd 3 articles, all on controversial topics. FeloniousMonk (talk) 03:59, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Using a search engine is (at least) one metric. It looks like I was at least partially wrong, as you say. Any topic can ber perceived as being controversial, especially if it is somebody's baby getting the Afd. I will try to be more sensitive in this regard. CruftCutter 18:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- So, who were you in your last Wikincarnation? •Jim62sch• 22:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
