Usage of primary sources

[edit]

Hi! Regarding your edits at Ingenico, Primary sources such as press releases aren't considered reliable sources on English Wikipedia. Not all acquisitions need to be covered on Wikipedia. If no major newspapers wrote stories about the acquisition then probably it's not worth mentioning at all. I'm removing the content cited from press releases, for now. Feel free to re-add if you can find independent reliable sources.

Also, fancy words like "leading", "major", "expanded its footprint" etc are best omitted (see WP:PEACOCK).

PS: Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosing affiliations that you have with the subjects you write about. Are you in any way affiliated with or receiving benefits from Ingenico, Philippe Lazare, related companies/persons or other subjects you have edited about on Wikipedia? -- intgr [talk] 16:26, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@CyrilMoka: Please reply: are you affiliated in any way with Ingenico? -- intgr [talk] 13:17, 28 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Your refusal to answer this question and to communicate with other editors in any way is an indication that you're not here to build an encyclopedia. Please refrain from editing on subjects that you are affiliated with, as explained in the WP:COI policy. -- intgr [talk] 22:45, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Intgr: Hello Intgr, sorry for my late reply I am not an advanced Wikipedian. I think we should keep 2 different pages for Ingenico & Ogone, as merging them do not reflect the importance of Ogone compared to other acquisitions such as Bambora or GlobalCollect. By the way, I am not affiliated with ingenico, but I am interested in the payment industry. Best

Information icon I noticed that you have posted comments to the page Ingenico in a language other than English. At the English-language Wikipedia, we try to use English for all comments. Posting all comments in English makes it easier for other editors to join the conversation and help you. If you cannot avoid using another language, then please provide a translation into English, if you can. If you cannot provide a translation, please go to the list of Wikipedias, look in the list for a Wikipedia that is in your language, and edit there instead of here. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 22:43, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ingenico, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. @Dl2000: HiI think we should keep 2 different pages for Ingenico & Ogone as merging them gives too much importance of Ogone on Ingenico page compared to other acquisitions (GlobalCollect or Bambora for instance). I think it's misleading wikipedians about Ingenico's history or activities. What do you think? Best.
