Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent edits, such as the ones to the page The Rolling Stones, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the "sandbox" rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Admrboltz (talk) 22:59, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

January 2011[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to The Smiths. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Alistair Stevenson (talk) 11:59, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

English bands[edit]

Hello. Please stop changing "English" to "British". They are English so there is absolutely no reason to change this. In fact, it is against Wikipedia guidelines. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. McLerristarr | Mclay1 15:30, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, stop changing "are a band" to "is a band". In British English, groups are referred to in plural. All your changes have been reverted. McLerristarr | Mclay1 15:43, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
