I am sorry to hear that the school is having financial difficulties.

Mercedes Sheppard is listed on the school website as the finance director. However, I notice that there is no listing for an Adams on the Administrative list.

I tried looking for a news article in the local papers identifying a change in administration. Can you find a source that can be cited for this (even if it is on the school web site)? One of the core policies of wikipedia is its policy on verifiability. Oddly enough, it is to say that wikipedia is not about the truth, but it is about facts that can be verified in reliable sources.

Again, I am sorry to hear things aren't going well for an upstanding institution like MPA ..... if you can find a reference, feel free to add it, or let me know, and I can add it for you. LonelyBeacon (talk) 14:46, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help!! The Board of Directors did put Mercedes Sheppard, our finance director, in charge of the school for the interim. It will probably take a while for the MPA website to get completely updated!! I believe that the next edition of the Beverly Review will have a story about it. I think that the newspaper comes out on Tuesdays. Once I see the article in print, I will let you know. I am kind of new to the whole Wiki editing thing, so you may have to add the reference for me :) Thank you again- DaneOne (talk) 18:18, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then, Welcome!

[edit]

Forgive me for not noting the new account, and permit me to roll out the welcome mat. That big addition to your talk page has a bunch of links to important policies and other such stuff that may be helpful. I am willing to help, but I think the fun of this site is in the participation. Feel free to check out articles on schools and see how they cite material from newspapers, and feel free to add the reference as soon as it comes out.

One thing I should mention in case someone should bring it up: Wikipedia does have a policy on conflicts of interest. If you are working for MPA, I could see another editor questioning work you do. This is why it is even more important to make sure that any edits are worded as neutrally as possible, and make sure that everything (as possible) is cited and referenced. This not only acts as a guarantee that the information added is as correct as possible, but it should protect you from accusations of being in conflict of interest.

For what its worth, I grew up in Alsip, and attended high school in Mt. Greenwood. MPA always had a good reputation with even us suburbanites.

Best of luck in editing! LonelyBeacon (talk) 18:41, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
