Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

In addition to the above, can I recommend that before hitting "Publish changes", you add an edit summary and then use the "Show preview" feature; a lot of your edits contain spelling mistakes, omit captitalisation of proper names such as counties and surnames, or omit punctuation, which has to be fixed by other editors. References go after punctuation, not before, and not in the middle of sentences. It'd also be useful to read up on Template:Cite and it's variations. While it's great that you're including citations, they need to be more than bare URLs, which are subject to link rot. Cheers, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 15:44, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MacLysaght

[edit]

MacLysaght is a valid reference. You are not referencing MacLysaght, though. You are referencing a web page that contains a scanned of his book, that isn't searchable. That isn't a valid reference. Also, you're just entering a bare URL. Don't. Use Template:Cite book. (Or Template:Cite web, or another one, as appropriate).

But please use the preview function! It is not the job of editors to clean up your additions because you couldn't be bothered checking to see if you'd used punctuation or captitalisation properly. Competence is required. I'm reverting any of today's contributions that aren't properly written. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 11:24, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Boru

[edit]

Thank you for finally providing a source that backs up your claim that the epithet "Boru" was posthumously added to his name. The Banner talk 11:29, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
