IKEA articles[edit]

Hello Mr. Courland. Thanks for your edits to Wikipedia. I see you are an IKEA employee. Thanks for giving your name, but this is a bit of a problem for editing articles because you have a conflict of interest. That doesn't mean you can't edit Wikipedia, but it means that you need to disclose this clearly when making changes, and avoid making any edits that could be seen as promotional. You should avoid posting any generic "about us" material to Wikipedia, and make sure not to post any pre-written text that has been copyrighted - Wikipedia can't accept this, even if it's also your writing. Since your article seemed to be of this kind, I have trimmed it and tried to add some independent citations and news coverage. I have marked the IKEAMuseum article for deletion as a duplicate.

Below I add an automated message about this. Please let me know if you have any questions. Blythwood (talk) 12:39, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Dave Courlang. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Speedy deletion nomination of IKEAMuseum[edit]

Hello Dave Courlang,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged IKEAMuseum for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, IKEA Museum ‎.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Blythwood (talk) 12:53, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
