Please stop engaging in an edit war and start talking to other editors about the changes you are making to the article.

Everything added to Wikipedia needs to be have sources and be neutral. Thus, your additions need to be from a neutral viewpoint (and not sympathetic to any) and have sources (in the form of references from books, websites, newspapers, etc).

If you do not heed these suggestions, you may end up being blocked.

3RR

[edit]

Hi there. I am not sure if you are fimilar with the WP:3RR but you have made more than three reverts of the same article within a 24-hour period. If you find that your edits are being reverted, it is a good idea to explain your position at the revelant articles discussion page and there you can discuss with other editors why the change you want to make should happen.

I will report this violation at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RR but I will also note that you are a newbie and may not have been aware of the rule.

Oh and you probably should read up on WP:NPOV.

User notice: temporary 3RR block

[edit]

Regarding reversions[1] made on October 20 2006 to Fred_Nile

[edit]
You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future.
The duration of the block is 8 hours. William M. Connolley 09:09, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fred Nile

[edit]

Re your note to me. You haven't been "adding data", you have been rewriting the article into a Fred Nile propaganda tract, and furthermore one which violates Wikipedia style in a number of ways (such as calling him "Rev Nile" throughout). It is obvious from your User Contributions page that you have only come here to write pro-Nile propaganda, and it also appears that you have some connection with him. So long as you do this your edits will be reverted. Adam 10:03, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:

[edit]

It would be best to:

  1. Discuss all changes on the Fred Nile talk page;
  2. Form a consensus with other editors on the page version;
  3. Not simply add in your version repeatedly.

The current article needs work, yes, but it needs to be done in a proper manner. michael talk 15:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gday,

What proper manner may that be? The editors that keep removing data have stated that they do so due to personal preference and infer they will continue to do so indefinitely. How do you suggest I work with that?

Dave

Do your version at Fred Nile/draft. I'll copyedit it myself—but there needs to be references. michael talk 07:18, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove all 'Rev Nile' tidbits, lists, inappropriate capitalisations and unrequired line breaks from the draft. michael talk 03:04, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What 'Rev Nile' tidbits? Why remove the lists? Which capitalisations?..most is Adam's previous work. I thought the line breaks would help break up the text..I'll get rid of them. Davehas12 02:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

There is one 'Rev Nile' remaining and an inappropriate capitalisation. The lists destract from the text, they must be converted into prose. michael talk 03:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks. How's that? I do note that others have lists of service / achievements so I thought that would be fine. (eg. Lee Rhiannon Davehas12 03:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm tentatively stating that it's alright! However, you'll still need to gain a consensus with other editors to replace the current article with the draft. Good luck! michael talk 03:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Np, what time frame are we looking at? Seeing as I was unavailable during the previous deadline, could we impose a new one or just post it until someone takes issue? Davehas12 03:45, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Just let them know on the Nile talk page, and wait for responses. Time shouldn't be an issue, really. michael talk 03:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've copied the draft over. Make changes there, and ignore the draft. michael talk 07:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Davehas12, please stop reinserting tendentious selections of primary source material you personally deem controversial. It is in violation of all core content policies, and there has been no explanation on the talk page as to why your personal selection warrants inclusion. I would encourage you to explain your rationale for inclusion, and its basis in Wikipedia policy, on the talk page. Regards, ITAQALLAH 22:45, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
