Use of branded names in Pharma articles[edit]

I noted the declarative statement in an edit - I think it was Fentanyl article.

I am not in particular disagreement but per WP:MEDMOS and as a practicing physician - a little thoughtful comment - there are many articles that actually should mention the brand - you are incorrect in the claims about patients - I deal with this matter multiple times a day.

Tylenol - using acetaminophen will produce a blank look as will Paracetamol in the US but not the UK.

The use of the term Diprivan is important in the context of a propofol - the audience is different but the comment is solid.

Xanax, Valium, Lipitor, Aspirin - fairly big brand recognition in a typical patient population.

With respect - I'd not get too zealous on this matter - and stating what a patient should know - is likely not NPOV nor aligned with WP:MEDMOS nor even WP:MOS.

Simply trying to clarify the matter.
