Grand Masters of the Odd Fellows Grand Lodge
[edit]Note that this is a list of the Grand Masters of the Grand Lodge of the Odd Fellows of Tennessee. It gets confusing because they use the same terminology.Zigzig20s (talk) 19:34, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- We may need to create a separate article about the Odd Fellows Grand Lodge of Tennessee and add a wikilink to a "see also" section.Zigzig20s (talk) 19:36, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Zigzig20s: Good find! Yeah, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows is a separate fraternal organization like the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Loyal Order of Moose. A lot of them use the same lodge/grand lodge/grand master terminology, but other than that they don't have much in common. I don't think the Masonic Grand Lodge and the IOOF Grand Lodge would really belong in an article together since they are different organizations. Deflagro Contribs/Talk 19:52, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- I think they should be separate articles but we should definitely have two articles with two separate lists of former Grand Masters. We need to make sure our readers understand that "Grand Lodge of Tennessee" and "Grand Masters" do not always refer to the Masons. They should also be able to double-check the lists if they see the term "Grand Master".Zigzig20s (talk) 20:21, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oliver Bliss Hayes was Adelicia Acklen's father. Perhaps he was notable in his own right?Zigzig20s (talk) 23:45, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- The bio for him in this book is simply "Born May 21, 1783. Died November 19, 1858. Buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville. Lawyer. Presbyterian Minister." So I while it's an interesting connection, I don't think we have enough info to make a stub about him! Deflagro Contribs/Talk 23:50, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- I think he was probably notable but we may need to wait for professional historians, not complete nobodies like us, to publish more research on him first.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:25, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
