If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gokul chandola requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Novice7 Talk 15:05, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is about Gokul Chandola.[edit]

This is brief detail of Gokul Chandola, that is not violation of Wikipedia rules.

Sources? Novice7 Talk 15:30, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article is very usefull as encyclopedia for others.

There are multiple source like gokul.co.in, in.linkedin.com/in/gokulchandola, forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=6451142 etc.

The first two are his own sites, the third is a message he wrote. They show that he exists, but that is not enough to have a Wikipedia article: this is an encyclopedia, not a listing site like LinkedIn, and article subjects need to be notable, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. More detail at WP:Notability (people). Also, if you are Gokul Chandola, see Wikipedia:Autobiography for why it is not a good idea to write an article about yourself.
There is a "userpage" at User:Dhruvchandola which is available for personal information about yourself. When adding personal information please remember that Wikipedia is not a social network such as MySpace or Facebook. Your userpage is for anything that is compatible with the Wikipedia project. It is a mistake to think of it as a homepage: Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site. JohnCD (talk) 16:05, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gokul Chandola[edit]

Articles about this person have now been created seven times, but none of them gave any indication why he is important or significant enough to have an article in an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not LinkedIn or Myspace or Facebook, where anybody can post details about himself. It is different. It is selective. It is a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia. It is not a place to post your resume.

To have an article in Wikipedia, a person must have notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn, Twitter, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. You gave three links above here, but they were Chandola's own web-site, his LinkedIn entry, and a SAP forum where he wrote a message. They show that he exists, but they do nothing to show that he is notable in Wikipedia's sense. That is not to say anything bad about him; he may be a very good person but still not notable. I could write about myself and my qualifications and my job, but I am not notable and I will never have a Wikipedia article.

I will not unlock the title, because we have already wasted a lot of time on this. Read all the links above, and think hard about whether he is really notable, in Wikipedia's sense; because if not, you will only waste more time. If you are related to Gokul Chandola, read WP:Conflict of interest; if you are Gokul Chandola, read WP:Autobiography.

If you then want to persist, make a draft article in your user space at User:Dhruvchandola/Gokul Chandola and ask for comments on it at WP:Requests for feedback.
