Edits on J.K. Rowling talk page

[edit]

You should read WP:SOCK. I think you may have edited here under both this username and a different IP address. This may unfairly skew the conversation and consensus over a decision. Please post on my talk page if you have any questions on this policy. Gwynand | TalkContribs 19:04, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware that the IP address is likely from something large... but this was you correct? This IP also posted in the same exact thread, agreeing with you, on the J.K. Rowling. I assume you made both comments. If you are going to comment in the same thread, make sure to sign in. Gwynand | TalkContribs 19:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Monica Lewinsky, you will be blocked from editing. Gwernol 20:27, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is absolutely out-of-line for you to do. What I posted was also backed up by something in the discussion thread. I believe it is normal protocol to put a warning before going to level 4im. This is absolutely out-of-line to be posting that and I resent it. You should not allow personal point of view to skewer an article or POV to punish an editor. Please be cautious in the future. --DiamondElusive (talk) 20:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As I noted on the talk page, your characterization of Lewinsky is personal bias on your part, is not sourced and clearly violates out policy on biographies of living people. If you continue to push your own politically motivated viewpoint in articles like this you will be blocked from editing. Gwernol 20:33, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is not my own personal bias, it is quite self-evident by reading the article. Please do not critize or pass judgment on other editors because of your own POV/ political motivation in regards to sensitivities, and accuracy. If you can be neutral about this, you will see what I mean. And second of all, I really do not appreciate the strong arm tactics that you are using. What ever happened to the chain of correction, such as Level 1, Level 2, Level 3. You jump immediately into Level 4im which is completely inappropriate. --DiamondElusive (talk) 20:39, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, so you believe that "whore" is a more neutral description than "woman"? Right... Anyway, the reason you got a level 4 warning is because of your edit was a particularly serious breach of WP:NPOV, WP:V and particularly WP:BLP. You cannot expect to make this sort of egregious edit without getting into serious trouble. Gwernol 20:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please understand that this is not a "little technicality". Your edit was defamatory and is forbidden under WP:BLP. I suggest you read that policy again to understand why it is critical that you follow it and why it is strictly and efficiently enforced. Gwernol 21:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for vandalism

[edit]

Tut, tut. that wasn't very wise. I've blocked this account, as well as your IP for 24 hours for harassment, sockpuppetry and vandalism. Further repeats of this behavior will result in longer blocks being imposed. Gwernol 21:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since you are continuing to use IP addresses to evade your block, I have extended the block on this account to 1 week. If you continue to evade your block, I will continue to extend it. Gwernol 11:07, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Extended further to 1 month. Gwernol 17:32, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note: The following IP addresses have been used to evade the block and vandalize articles: [User:216.229.227.144]], User:216.229.226.44, User:216.229.227.143, User:216.229.227.142 and User:216.229.227.132
