You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for disruptively displaying Nazi symbolism on your userpage.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  TonyBallioni (talk) 03:49, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I did not know the userpage rules, and did not take into consideration that it would be inflammatory to visors and fellow editors. I removed it immediately when it was brought up that I was violating the userpage rules, and have since learned my lesson. I promise that this type of violation will not occur were I to be unblocked.

Decline reason:

You pretty clearly knew what the symbol was, which would suggest that you should know something about the group that used it, and yet you chose to use the symbol in a way that aligned yourself with that group. If you were sincere in using that symbol, you're a Nazi. If you weren't sincere, you're a troll. Either way, you're not welcome here. Ian.thomson (talk) 04:40, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I am not a Nazi, and the ban is about my use of the symbol, not my views. I may be incorrect, but Wikipedia it seems is a place for people regardless of political affiliation. I have learned my lesson on use of inflammatory imagery on my userpage, and it will not happen again.

Decline reason:

You are clearly here not to build an encyclopedia. Max Semenik (talk) 06:16, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, if you're not a Nazi, you're a troll. You admit that the imagery was inflammatory, i.e. trolling. Ian.thomson (talk) 05:21, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I realize that know, I did not realize it at the time. It was foolish of me, I know. I have learned by lesson DistractedOften (talk) 05:23, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • That you have the gall to link to the friendly space policy after displaying a symbol from Nazi mysticism with an edit summary that used as a descriptor for one of the swastikas that can be found in it is beyond belief for me. Your actions themselves violate that principle you linked to, and Nazism is not simply just another political belief. I won’t be revoking TPA, but I’d suggest the reviewing admin consider it. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:24, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • That you cannot see that prominently displaying Nazi symbolism on your userpage is incompatible with creating friendly spaces (an in person policy, btw) shows that there is no place for you on the English Wikipedia. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • (edit conflict) Just going to pop in to add that what the others meant about "friendly spaces" being an "in person" thing: Friendly spaces is a Wikimedia Foundation events policy, not an on-wiki one. That therefore makes its citing in an unblock request somewhat moot. --TheSandDoctor Talk 05:41, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well, more importantly it takes some gall to even consider linking to it considering the reason for this block and using it to make the clear implication that being a Nazi is the same thing as supporting Labour or the Tories. I agree with Ian: either Nazi or troll. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:45, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm a libertarian. I despise Nazism and all forms of authoritarianism. I used the black sun because where I'm from on the internet it simply means white nationalism, and I am a white nationalist, but I do not want it enforced by government. Now that I've cleared things, I hope we can bring discussion back to my actions and not my beliefs. DistractedOften (talk) 05:51, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"White nationalist" = "nazi". As simple as that. And you using a nazi symbol just confirms that. Max Semenik (talk) 06:16, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's objectively false. And symbols can mean different things to different people. DistractedOften (talk) 06:27, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So you'll own the label "white nationalist" while denying the "nazi" one. Whatever, you've just proven you don't belong on a collaborative project by your own words, this is not a place for racists. End of the line. Talk page access revoked. Courcelles (talk) 16:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
