Please have a look over the speedy deletion criteria before you proceed to tag any more articles for deletion. Malik Simsek wasn't remotely an appropriate nomination under the "nonsense" criterion. If you have any questions about the relevant policies, feel free to leave me a note. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I see by looking over your contribution history that you are probably trying to suggest that the Malik Simsek article is a hoax, which makes it more understandable that you would try to tag it for speedy deletion. You didn't get the process right, but I now understand your motivation, I think. The article makes what we call an "assertion of notability" in that it suggests that the article's subject played on a national football team, so it's not appropriate for speedy deletion, and it definitely doesn't qualify as "nonsense", which is how you tagged it. I suggest the way to accomplish what you want to do is by nominating the article using the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion (AfD) process. You can read up on that process by using the link in the previous sentence. If you are very sure this is a hoax, and can perhaps provide me with a link to a website that proves it, I'll be happy to help you with the process by taking the page through the AfD process myself. You can leave me a note by clicking on the "talk" part of my signature here. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:40, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I had a good close look at the article and I am now convinced that it's a hoax, so I will do what needs to be done. If you have any questions or problems, you can leave me a note. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:47, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing this to my attention; it's now nominated for deletion. Since I have no expertise in the area of Turkish football, I'm going to ask you to have a look at other edits by the same editor to see if there are any other examples of either vandalism or hoaxing. (I note that you're a new editor so if you don't feel comfortable with this, no problem.) And if you have any questions at all, about anything about Wikipedia, feel free to leave me a note.
