Tetris

[edit]

Hi Dodd, thanks for you interest in the List of Tetris variants. I'll provide a bit more information about the inclusion criteria, then you can tell me if the clones you mentioned need to go in.

1) As an encyclopedia, we are a tertiary source: we summarize information found in secondary sources. Therefore, it is not our intention to create a directory of every Tetris clone that exists.

2) Our guideline for "notability", generally, is that a topic has received significant coverage in reliable publications. For games this is usually means reviews in magazines or certain websites: it doesn't matter how interesting the game is, or how popular it is, unless commented on by secondary sources.

3) However, a Tetris game that doesn't meet the notability threshold may still be included in the list if it is at least verifiable through a reliable secondary source. The coverage doesn't need to be "significant", but I would ask that it have at least a little substance to it: an entry in a directory listing with little more than the game's name wouldn't be usable, for example.

So the next step is to examine what secondary sources are available for NullpoMino and the others you mentioned. This sometimes goes to a conversation about what we mean by "reliable" sources, so if you're unsure you can check at WP:IRS. Let me know, thanks! Hi Dodd. Of the sources you linked to, Linux Format, Good Game Stories and Joystiq are usable. As you indicate, the actual content of that Linux Format issue should be investigated. I will get round to adding Tetris The Grand Master (3), Lockjaw and perhaps Nullpomino: if you have more time than me and can fill out a citation template then you can give it a go if you like. Thanks! Marasmusine (talk) 12:03, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Dodd, I'll do my best to sort this out over the next few days. Marasmusine (talk) 06:55, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dodd, yes I would say Nippon Television is a reliable source and the coverage is fair! Would be great to get a translation to help with the citation. Again, you can have a go at this yourself (Template:cite episode) or I'll try over the next few days. Marasmusine (talk) 21:45, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
