The article has its own talk page, please address your remarks there for the benefit of (and possible input from) the entire WP:TREK community.
As for the content of your changes, I'm simply enforcing the setup put in place and maintained for a time by the original author of the article. Making wholesale changes on the scale you're doing is not up to you just because you want it to be that way.
