Orphaned fair use image (Image:Skill cape.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Skill cape.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WikiProject MMO Newsletter - April 2007[edit]

WikiProject MMO Quarterly
April 2007 Issue I
About Us
WikiProject MMO Quarterly is a quarterly newsletter posted on the first of January, April, July, and October. The newsletter is written by any and all interested members of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games for members of the project and interested Wikipedians outside of the project.
Questions, comments, and concerns
For general questions, comments, and concerns, leave a message on our talk page here. For questions, comments, and concerns about our newsletter, leave a message on the talk page for the newsletter section of our Outreach Department here.
New good articles and featured articles
Good articles and featured articles are a great way to see what major acomplishments we have made over the last quarter.

Good articles

Featured articles
None this quarter!

Role call
We ask that within a month, all members sign our role call to show that they are still active participants in the project. More information is available on the role call page.
Major news
WikiProject RuneScape, our former child project, was moved to become a task force of this project in January as it had a small scope but the task force is still going strong to this very day.

This past quarter marks the beginning of our new collaboration system MMOGCM. Past collaborations thus far have been World of Warcraft and MMORPG, both of which made it to GA status while it was the MMOGCM.

As well, we now have an Outreach Department which works on this newsletter as well as spreads the word of our project.

WikiProject MMO is also now a participant in the Work via WikiProjects division of Wikipedia 1.0 and as such, we will be helping decide which are the best (based on quality and importance) articles within our scope. Project members can discuss which articles are to be included here.

News from the RuneScape Task Force
We are currently trying to improve this task force so that we can edit all RuneScape-related articles in an organized manner. To do that we started a massive overhaul which we invite all task force members to participate in.

We have also gotten our main article, RuneScape to good article status this quarter. All this, and the task force was only created in January.

Signed...
Greeves, Ed

On behalf of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games.

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Portal:RuneScape/Did you know, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on [[Talk:Portal:RuneScape/Did you know|its talk page]]. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hello, Dtm142. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Three Triangles.svg) was found at the following location: User:Dtm142. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:59, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks[edit]

Please do not launch personal attacks in edit summaries as you did here and here. I recognise the fact that the user against whom you penned those slurs has, in his own right, been far from an exemplary editor. Nonetheless, I think it unlikely that intemperate edit summaries such as yours do anything whatsoever to raise the level of debate and to encourage civility on the part of all editors, including newbies who may be watching us and who may be using more experienced editors such as you to model their behaviour. Cheers! — Dave (Talk | contribs) 01:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE, if you disagree with the position of some users regarding CITES on the Hunting:Talk Page, don't delete them. Discuss, challenge, argue, but don't delete. It's vandalism, pure and simple. Zonedar 00:47, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was a valid discussion. I know as I've imported a sport hunted leopard (covered under CITES). Fully legal and with the permission of the DFW (U.S.). I also know SEVERAL people who've imported elephant, lion, bontebuck, white rhino, polar bear into the U.S. It isn't smuggling. ALL legal and above board. As part of the Trophy hunting section a discussion of CITES and how different countries enforce and interpret it is certainly worth discussion.Zonedar 15:04, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Wikipedia is not a How-To Manual. But your comments about the user '[...]smuggling endangered corpses into the civilized world' was CLEARLY out of line and represented an extreme POV on your part. If you'd had said that the questions were not appropriate in the comments and not deleted them outright I would not have had a problem. Additionally you also deleted another user's Big5Hunter comments about CITES in the process. Zonedar 23:40, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hunting related articles[edit]

an anon left me a note complaining about some material you deleted. Don't know what it's all about. Please let me know. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 14:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Portal:RuneScape[edit]

A tag has been placed on Portal:RuneScape requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section P2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a portal based on a topic for which there is no non-stub header article, and there are not at least three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to discuss under the title of that portal.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Portal:RuneScape|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your upload of File:Autism spectrum.PNG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
