A tag has been placed on Miller Beach Arts and Creative District, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Miller Beach Arts and Creative District[edit]

Please do not recreate this article with the same content. The article was deleted via consensus of multiple independent Wikipedia editors and cannot be re-created with the same content. You are welcome to recreate the article with improved content, by adding reliable source references that establish that the subject meets Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion. The main problems with the article were that 1) only one of the reliable sources on the article was actually about the entity in question; the rest only mentioned it in passing in the context of something else, and 2) while mentioning that other arts districts have articles on Wikipedia is great, those all need to have references to establish that they meet the notability criteria on their own; no article meets notability criteria simply by being associated with people or entities that do. As I mentioned in the deletion discussion, which you never contributed to, much of the content might be useful for the Miller Beach article.

Also, please note that adding content against consensus is vandalism and you may be blocked if you continue to do so. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:08, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Miller/Aetna/Miller Beach boundaries[edit]

Hi,

Since I'm still working on the draft (and probably will be for some time yet), I've taken the liberty of reverting this edit in my userspace for now. However, I think you're probably correct that there is a violation of WP:WEIGHT in the current structure of the section.

Still, I think the question of boundaries and variant uses needs to be addressed, particularly since the intended readership is global and cannot be expected to know anything in particular about the area. And per the principle of verifiability, the issue cannot be addressed on Wikipedia without reference to reliable sources. At the moment, the only such sources that directly address Miller's boundaries are the documents put out by the City of Gary.

While I can say that the boundaries of Miller as defined by the city are substantially at odds with how I and the Post-Tribune have understood them, we really do need to have something more than anecdotes and original research to go on. If you have published sources that specifically address the boundaries of Miller, I'd be very interested. (I did just notice this, which adds a whole new wrinkle.) -- Visviva (talk) 01:17, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Millie the Miller Beach monster, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://millerbeachmonster.webs.com/about-us.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
