California[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to California, did not appear to be constructive and has been removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.Bvlax2005 (talk) 04:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help editing[edit]

What questions do you have? Some can be easily answered by going to the Tutorial accessible from the Main Page. Protonk (talk) 04:07, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! someone removed my change to an article and I can't figure out if there is a way to stop them from doing that again or why they did it. Also, is there a place where I can find out more about editing Wikipedia? I tried a little bit and I think I am getting the hang of it. What are the reasons people usually like to edit on Wikipedia? Do you think it is something I could do as a hobby that would be enjoyable? Thanks. Eating Tomatoes (talk) 04:07, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

and I only edited california to see if someone there can help me since I am from there. But another user showed me how to ask for help. Eating Tomatoes (talk) 04:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Which change? Sometimes, big changes should be discussed with other editors on the talk page (use the "Discussion" tab) before making them. nneonneo talk 04:11, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The user added "can you help me?" into one of the sections of the article.
One of the best places to find help though is at WP:HELP. If you can't find the answer you are looking for there is a link near the top of the page for the Help Desk, where you can ask whichever question you need. Also, if you have a question in the mean time feel free to ask it here and I can see what I can do about helping you out! Bvlax2005 (talk) 04:15, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The one about Messiah Complex. I saw a tv show about how Obama has a Messiah Complex, and some doctors came on and said that they thought that he did. So I added his name to a couple of the messiah complex articles and people removed it and it just happened again. Can they do that? Eating Tomatoes (talk) 04:12, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When it comes to additions that might seem controversial your best bet is to cite where the information came from. All information on Wikipedia must be verifiable otherwise it is subject to removal. If you know where a reliable source for this can be found you can add <ref>http://www.website.com/ObamaOnTV.html</ref> and it will put a note next to his name, and automatically add the reference to the list.

Oh, ok. I just found out where it talks about that in the help page you gave me. Thanks. I will keep trying to learn. Can I ask you things if I ever need help in the future? Eating Tomatoes (talk) 04:28, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing! I'm on here fairly often so if you are having troubles with something feel free to let me know. Bvlax2005 (talk) 04:30, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
