My Mistake!! (The B-50 Photo)

First, I apologize if this is a "duplicate" message. (I did send this reply to you a couple of hours ago on my "User talk" page.) I just want to make sure you got this. I wrote...

YES! YES!!

Dear, Eeekster,

I just sent this message a few minutes ago to the "Media Copyright Questions page" when I realized what I had done...

Subject: How to Delete an Upload?

Dear Sirs,

I was trying to learn how to upload a photo. I thought that I was going to be doing such on my "Sandbox" page. The next thing I know is that I actually uploaded the photo to Wikipedia itself!

As I am not sure of copyright issues just yet regarding the photo, I need to find out how to delete my upload, please.

Again, I was just trying to learn how to upload, and not actually do it. I did look and look on the uploaded image page to see how I could undo what I did, but alas.

I'm so sorry to bother you with this.

Please advise. Thanks in advance!

Rob

The name of my image in my personal files is "B-50 (1950s-Biggs AFB) File:B-50 (1950s-Biggs AFB).jpg

(I did indeed "sign my post.")

So, yes, Eeekster, please feel free to delete my inadvertent upload. Again, I'm so sorry to bother you.

Rob

(I did indeed "sign my post.")

Again, I'm sorry for the trouble. And, I apologize once more if this is a "duplicate" message.

Oh, again, please feel free to delete my inadvertent upload of the B-50 photo, OK? Thanks in advance.

Rob

Hi

Could you explain why the link was removed? http://liurenology.com/LiuRen/Chart This shows the current Da Liu Ren chart for the specific moment, so it is relevant for the user to perform the divination. The current external link is not even working, so why is that not removed?

Marty Watt article

The removed file File:Griffin Dunne, Karen Young, Marty Watt in Almost You.jpg is from a motion picture press package and free for promotional use. I didn't know exactly which free criterion to click on to put it in that category. What shall I do? Wattcima (talk) 09:33, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

This is all way to complex for me to deal with. I took the picture and just want it added as a upper right corner picture. i have no idea how to do this after reading your byzantine directions. Please help- i'm over it.\\

Because the image has been previously published you will need to contact WP:OTRS to established your ownership. Eeekster (talk) 20:52, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

The lack of finding a free image on the Internet isn't enough to qualify as fair use. Eeekster (talk) 23:57, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello. I hope you are doing well. You just informed me that one of the pictures that I uploaded does not hold a clear copyright. I understand the reasons and will try to get hold of another one later. I wanted to ask you if there is anything I should do in order to delete it. I understand it is enough by not answering to your tug but thought that it would be better to check, is that so? This is the link to the image that must be deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Y.C.U.%27s_emblem.jpg Thank you very much!Pattycarabelli — Preceding undated comment added 23:10, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Photos of East Lake and Roosevelt Libraries

Sorry for bothering you.

For future reference when I am submitting Hennepin County Library created photos for Wikipedia entries on our libraries, what is the best choice copyright/fair use wise?

These are photos we have created and want to share them on Wikipedia. I know I'll be wanting to add at least one more - Walker Library needs a new photo as well.

Thanks,

Ian Stade Hennepin County Library (successor to Minneapolis Public Library)

It depends on what the copyright owner wants and is willing to state. Eeekster (talk) 21:20, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Dora

Hi It's a fait use as [1]. Can you move [File:Dora and Friends.jpg ] to File:Dora and Friends logo.jpg ? Regards. --Panam2014 (talk) 07:15, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Eeekster (talk) 20:29, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

I was sent a picture file personally but the owner does not have a copyright liscense for it. They have the original creation documents, or the document where they created the logo. What do I do?RADOFINS and ECNALI (talk) 00:41, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Ask about it in Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Eeekster (talk) 01:08, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Skullgard Helmet

Skullgard Helmet image usage Hello, I've tried to correct the licensing information by re-uploading. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_hat LBMitchell LBMitchell (talk) 19:43, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Please don't do that. If you want to change the license (or other info), just hit the edit button. But you should know this image does not qualify as fair use. Eeekster (talk) 19:46, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

It most certainly does, according to my law department. We are using CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, as noted in the upload information. LBMitchell204.28.31.3 (talk) 20:17, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

CC BY-NC-ND is not acceptable. Eeekster (talk) 20:34, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi there. I added this orphaned photo to the Rich Cronin article. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:23, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I added a link from the location of Plano, Texas, to a business directory specifically for Plano. It is no different than the tourism link above, as it shows all the businesses and restaurants visitors may go to. Why was this removed? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Planobiz (talkcontribs) 21:41, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

If nothing else, it's self-promotion. Eeekster (talk) 03:38, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Dear Eeekster,

The logo was my creation, and there are no restrictions on who can use it. You may contact the Cecil Ramos, President of HiFi NC to verify. She can be reached at their current website: www.historicfilipinotown.org

Thank you

Thank you for your message about the page Mark Whiteley. I found the page which referred to me and some of the information was incorrect. I have added to it and have referenced everything I have added so that it is an accurate reflection of my work in the venous world. I am happy to change anything that you feel is incorrect but have spent a long time checking the accuracy of what is written and have provided references for everything added. Many thanks Mark Professor Mark Whiteley (talk) 20:50, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello Thanks for your message on my talk page. I have found and added the copyright tag on the Image file I uploaded on August 24th on article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Al_Flight_1862. Since the warning states "please remove this template is the correct copyright license has been added", I do not know how to remove it, could you please notify me on my talk page how to remove it, it has to be gone before the file is deleted on the 30th August.

Thanks

Question on the File you Deleted

Hello, you have recently deleted the file from the musician article I have created for Michael Janisch and the file is here: File:Michael Janisch, Whirlwind Festival 2013, London, England from Kings Place.jpg I have emailed the photographer and explained to him the situation and he has told me that it is completely fine to rename or re-attribute this picture as 'free use' and says he has actually given up the copyright on this photo. So therefore it is now fair use I've learned. As I have never been in this situation before, can you tell me how to proceed? I would like to finish my article off using this photo. Thank you Johnston467 (talk) 18:05, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

You'll need to contact WP:OTRS. Eeekster (talk) 18:09, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

The licence holder of the image has granted free use of the image on Wikipedia. This makes it applicable to use in the article. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by HarryHeptonstall (talkcontribs) 18:21, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

On just Wikipedia? Eeekster (talk) 19:02, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

The licence holder/owner of the image Max_Herman.jpg which is Eggiokio (me). I have granted free use of the image worldwide. I recently updated Max's previous picture as it was dated from 2012 and wanted to keep his page up to date. His page has been edited by multiple editors. Let me know how you wish to proceed, thank you for bringing this to my attention, however as the licences holder, it is applicable to be used?

And we should just take your word for that? The image has already been published, so you'll have to take it to WP:OTRS. Eeekster (talk) 20:22, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

An email has been sent to WP:OTRS to re-edit the photo in.

File:Fort Hope Band.jpg

Hi there, I am confused to as why this image fails Wikipedia's first non-free content criterion when the author has allowed this image to be commercially used and modified, can you help explain why this image is not suitable? This image is free after all. Apologies for me coming here and not doing what you requested on my talk page but I'm very much a newbie in terms of uploading imagery so the instructions you gave me confused me. SilentDan (talk) 02:12, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

You put it up as fair use. There's nothing free about that. Eeekster (talk) 02:13, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
But the link to the image says "Some rights reserved", which links to this page stating that this image can be shared and adapted for any purpose, including commercial. Have I uploaded the image wrong then? Can you help me correct this so as I won't repeat this mistake? SilentDan (talk) 02:18, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
