I suggest easing into Wikipedia in a learning mode: first make small contributions and see how other users respond. There's a lot to pick up here. Major rewrites or huge sections are probably better off created as drafts (e.g. create a draft space such as User:Eguthier/Healthcare) which you can ask others to review and make suggestions on before inserting them.
