Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Matt Taibbi

Two people have an argument, one does not want to play anymore, the other declared the winner. Not material for an encyclopedia. Jim1138 (talk) 01:14, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. I'd at least like you to hear out my logic, and if you think it's BS just ignore me. I'll break down what you said: "Two people have an argument" - true. "one does not want to play anymore" - false; the format of the article was that Taibbi makes a baseless allegation, then it is refuted with proven evidence. Taibbi poses a question and it is responded to; clearly no one "does not want to play anymore". "The other declared winner" - false; each point I made was backed by evidence from the article without any bias as far as I can tell, you provide no reason why or how I "declared the winner". "Not material for an encyclopedia" - this is debatable, and you have the ultimate say. I disagree with you, but I respect you for at least responding and giving me a chance to be heard. You're not allowed to offer your own analysis or do original research. The Artist AKA Mr Anonymous (talk) 18:28, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So you're telling me I have to be rich and publish my own book (even if it's BS) to make a "contribution"? That doesn't sound particularly "open" like Wikipedia seems to be and is particularly slanted in favor of those with pockets deep enough to do such a thing. Is there another way? Regarding "Irn"

[edit]

I note that you left a request on Irn's talk page asking him a question. I'm curious whether he ever bothered to answer you? It doesn't look like it, nor does it look as if he much cares to be questioned. he accused me of an editing war and threatened to have me kicked off as an editor. Yet he violated one of the tenets of instruction to those who attempt to intervene: to focus upon cooling down the issue not pouring gasoline on the fire. You have my sympathy; "Irn" certainly does not have my respect, that's for sure.QuintBy (talk) 05:41, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm convinced some of these editors have agendas other than maintaining a free repository of objective information. Elg2001 (talk) 16:20, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
