I am new and did not know I had to provide a source. This is published in the Elks National guidelines I. Our statutes manual. I re-edited but if I need to do that again I will. Elksupdate (talk) 14:31, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Everything I am adding comes from the Elks National Statues book, the Elks By-Laws and House Rules. But I have no idea how to add this as a source and what you are looking for. The historical context about the country going through a wave of xenophobia is just right out of history books. What was happening at the time. How do I source that? Please help. We are trying to modernize the look of the Elks to match what is happening today, not what happened in 1900. Please tell me what to do. Elksupdate (talk) 17:45, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

That is why I did not give you a level 2 warning about the unsourced content, only the warning about COI editing, I see you are trying to make productive edits. The long and short of the reliable sources policy calls for the information to be published by a reliable source independent of the subject. This means a newspaper article or (as you suggested) a history book or textbook, etc. written by an unrelated author would be just about prefect. I think we might be able to sneak by with sourcing the Elks documents themselves if its proprietary information or something that might not be available elsewhere and properly cited. And it would be best if there was a link to an online version of the document you are citing for verifiability purposes (best if future readers can easily click to double check that what is stated in our article is actually stated in the cited source). For help with formatting your citations, check out WP:CITE, and there is a lot of other useful information in the Welcome! template I just added to the top of this page. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here or on my talk page. And don't worry about being bold or making minor mistakes, as long as you are editing in good faith and not trying to push any bias, we welcome any and all additional encyclopedic content!

P.S...
