I finally got around to creating a user account. This is it.
Olexander[edit]
Where did you get the idea that he's a wet from? He may be gay, but he has a reputation even within the Liberal Party as being particularly hardline. Ambi 12:37, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
- It's a matter of accuracy, not neutrality. Doyle is one of the parliament's more conservative members, but he's not nearly as conservative as Olexander. Please don't jump to the assumption that he's moderate because he's gay; the fact that he's so very conservative is one of the reasons that I find him interesting. Ambi 12:47, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
- I freely concede being mistaken on Aden Ridgeway; thanks for picking up the error and citing it. Olexander is another matter, however; I did quite a bit of research when I wrote that article, and I can categorically say that his conservativism leaves Doyle in his wake. - Okay, I think I owe you a big apology. Thanks for picking up the errors on the Democrats articles; my memory of those events clearly wasn't as good as I thought it was. Moreover, you were also right about Olexander. I'd remembered fairly accurately the sources I'd based that on; the problem is that those articles were completely misleading, citing a few things out of context in order to make that claim. I have much better resources at my disposal now than I did when I wrote that article, and being able to read the articles from the time makes clear that the supposed evidence of him being overly conservative is not supported by the examples that were actually cited. - He's been mostly noisy over drug and alcohol issues, and has really dug into the government over things that've been seen to endorse their use, but he's hardly alone on doing so on that front among the Liberals. Another thing cited was his attacks on offensive art, but the examples I found before were so obvious that even I'd have agreed with his stance. In any case, actually having proper sources at hand shows that if anything, he's progressive leaning. I think I might have to go back over some of these older articles with a fine-tooth comb. Kerry O'Brien[edit]
No I didn't know that. If that's the case the article should give the years between which he was employed, and/or state the position which Whitlam held when he employed O'Brien (ie, Opposition Leader, UNESCO Ambassador or whatever). Adam 07:35, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
First Lady, President Issue[edit]

Thank you for your comments regarding the President being her own First Lady as something that appears to be improbable. As I said in the discussion on the First Lady/President issue, the President is the President, period. He is not the First Gentleman, and in the event when a woman is elected, she too will be the President, not the President and First Lady. Again, thanks for lending support to my point of view. Thanks for your additions to this article. You say "you can walk into any GP and get it if they decide you need it". This link, says prescription is limited to specialist consultants-only (GPs only if co-prescriber). Perhaps the guidelines vary from state to state? Colin°Talk 10:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
