Unspecified source for Image:Beatrice_ensor.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Beatrice_ensor.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Mschel 18:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Nonna.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nonna.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

AfD nomination of Beatrice Ensor

[edit]

I've nominated Beatrice Ensor, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Beatrice Ensor satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Beatrice Ensor and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Beatrice Ensor during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.G1ggy Talk - Chalk 10:17, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SD request of Beatrice Ensor

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Beatrice Ensor, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Groupthink 11:49, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beatrice Ensor's portrait

[edit]

As it seems unlikely now that the article will be deleted, you should take care that the image of Beatrice doesn't get deleted for want of a license and a source. To begin with, you should write as much about the provenance as you know (year the photo was taken, photographer's name, if it has been published or if it is in your private collection, etc). Pharamond 16:47, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just saw that you did note that you owned the photo here, but not here, which was the one I was looking at. There is no reason not to keep the photo with the higher resolution, as image size can be adjusted in the article pages. I believe the page only loads a thumbnail of whatever size is set in the code, so it does not require more from the browser to have an image of larger original size. Commendation

[edit]

Ensojer, I thank you for writing the WP the article about B Ensor, and for persevering in the face of criticism. Please continue to add such articles, and learn how to write them in the more concise encyclopedic style that is appropriate here. The article does need some work--it shouldn't sound like a family memorial. Please double-check that the material actually in all original writing, and hasn't been copied from what may have been published elsewhere. DGG 02:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC) Yes - it was written by my father for a website I am creating for my grandmother so it does need to be worked on. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Beatrice ensor.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 16:35, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Isaac weld

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Isaac weld requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
