[edit]Erichy village is situated at a distance of 24kms from Pudukkottai(Dist Head Quaters) and 9kms from Aanthangi(Taluk Head Quaters), on the main Road of Pudukkottai - Aranthangi State Highway.
The name of this village is being identified as konattu Erichalur accorting to details available in pudukkottai History and in sangam Books. Dr.u.v.swaminatha iyyar has also describes that the presant Erichy(Aranthangi Thaluk) and Erichalur are one and the same.
this lnd belongs to mullai for the kind and might have been a thick forest in the olden days. Though no proofs are available it is said that pandavas who come here ans was residing for certain period at narpavala vadavayal village, which is the adjusted village of Erichy said to be the thadakai vanam, had worshiped the lord kasiviswanathar of the temble at erichy and conducted yahams.Many records are avalable with related proofs, that this village under chola ruling in the oldan days and after wards the folling changes are also forward.
