FW templates[edit]

Is there a medium in which we can communicate? I'm trying to update the Fish Wrangler Wiki with a few other users. I'm trying to learn more about templates too. Jeydo (talk) 07:34, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

standalone year dates[edit]

WP guidelines on dates do not support links to standalone years, except in some cases when the year article provides information that supports the contents of the main article. I do not find this to be the case with this article. Also, section headings in articles are never supposed to have linked words, dates or otherwise. It is possible though, that timelines might have different rules or customs that I have not noticed. Thanks Hmains (talk) 18:20, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Project Blue Earth SOS[edit]

Hallo, You tagged this as {{stub}}, with a tag at the top of the article, but (a) stub tags conventionally go at the end of an article, not the beginning (see Wikipedia:Stubs#Categorizing_stubs, and (b) it already had a categorised stub tag, {{anime-series-stub}}. Please don't add stub tags to articles like this, as it just wastes time for those of us at WP:WSS. Thanks, PamD (talk) 21:51, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Licence change[edit]

Hi Esby, Yes I changed my licence for some pictures. I thought the choise I made was better than the first one. I hope that I have right, if not I will change it as it was. Rutger2 (talk) 16:10, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Documentation for gadget authors[edit]

I saw you had done some work on gadgets. We're trying to start a library for gadget authors to use. Please check it out and post any questions or comments there — MarkAHershberger(talk) 19:13, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted[edit]

Esby, I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 21:21, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you![edit]

Thank you so much for taking and uploading a picture of Man With A Mission. I've been wanting a photo of them to add to the article for forever. SilverserenC 05:39, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

np, there are also a few 'individual' photos in the associated category. commons:Category:Man_With_A_Mission esby (talk) 11:12, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

An issue[edit]

I'm having a weird issue with the Man With A Mission article. More specifically, with the Oricon sales rankings reference. The album reference still works fine and shows what it should, their two albums. But the singles reference info is gone. I don't know if Oricon removed them after a certain amount of time, but that seems unlikely, because then only the oldest would have expired and not all of them. I'm not sure what happened and, since i'm trying to work with the site through a translator, I don't know where else to look to find the info again. Any advice? SilverserenC 09:57, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

I can't read japanese so I am no better than you on this issue. I also don't know the site (my hobby is taking photograph in convention, not following japanese online websites). Can't really help you. Try asking in the oricon artile talk page ? esby (talk) 12:45, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
The Help Desk might be more useful or maybe WIkiproject Japan. I'll try there. I was just checking to see if maybe you knew what was up with it. Thanks anyways. And keep up with the photos, they're really helpful. SilverserenC 17:18, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Salut et bonne année ![edit]

Encore moi, et encore mes méthodes de travail... auxquelles certains ne comprennent rien parfois... alors je vous ai cité comme « avocat »... dans un mot à [1]. Voici ! Cordialement, --Spiridon Ion Cepleanu (talk) 19:38, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi ! About the dinosaur Atsinganosaurus, for an artist view of a fossil animal, we're forced to use & follow the precedent sculptures or drawings (if they are accurate) by fidelity to the scientific validation. But I changed some details. If you think than it's a copyviol, do for the best, no problem for me. But about the other uploads, the map « Transhumanţă » is mine and if you can find some others about the same theme, you can't find THIS ONE nowhere because I passed some hours to draw it ; so "Copyvio" OF WHAT ? of my sources ? Sorry for the mention of this sources on the map ! About « Paléo-1 », all the images of this composite are extracted from Commons, not only by me, but also by others, until me... About « Leonte Izot de Fântâna Albă.png », this image is uploaded by the user Cezarika1 are also extract by me from the Romanian Commons. If this is a « copy viol », you must delete also this picture in the Romanian Commons. About the butterfly « Lethe corbieri », « no confidence » ? Presumption of guilt ? You must verify ! This is MY drawing (so, Nel & Balme CAN'T have THIS picture in their paper) of a fossil (the butterfly Lethe corbieri) actually exposed in the Natural History Museum of Toulon (France) where I work. Sorry for my cosmetic work on my pictures before upload ! You CAN'T find this image nowhere, in any site or book, but you can call the Natural History Museum of Toulon 00.33.483.954.421, contact the curator François Dusoulier (he speaks perfectly english), and ask to him if he expose this fossil in this moment, and if he know me, Ion Cepleanu. You can also see [2]. About my map of the « Mount Athos » (again some hours to draw it, according with the sources), a historical map isn't only an OLD, very OLD map ! We can today draw numeric and vectorial maps with our PC even of the Neolithic ! But I could also draw maps when I was young, in the 70ties, before the beginning of the personal computers, and I can today scan my backgounds (and also my old argentic pellicula photographies), re-draw all it with Photoshop, translate and cosmetically adapt this old works. « No confidence » ? Presumption of guilt ? You must verify ! I have Skype. You can search and call me. My phone is the 00.33.689.747.715. I can show by Skype my old works & books ! Would you ? Now, if in your eyes I am a big raper of the copy rights, you have a giant work : you must delete all my photographies (except someones, uploaded without cosmetic changes) and maps (with old backgrounds & who cite sources). Bur before, please, Mr. prosecutor, have a little talk with my lawyer, the french Wiki administrator [3]. Happy New Year !
