"This one is taken"

[edit]

I think you have a gross misunderstanding of the purpose of photos in Wikipedia articles, which is to say that they exist for the editor's benefit instead of for the articles. Your comment "calm down you're not the only one taking pics of cars out there. this one's taken" on the Ford Escape page reflects a sense of ownership that is completely uncalled for on Wikipedia.

Furthermore, if you were to look at the page's edit history, you'd see that I hadn't changed the photo. Both meet the quality standards, though yours is taken from higher up than ideal.

Between an unfounded accusation that I was involved in a change you didn't like and your sense that the purpose of an article is to showcase your work as a photographer, you need to calm yourself down and think about why Wikipedia exists. IFCAR (talk) 11:18, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but don't you find it weird that every time someone takes a picture of a vehicle, yours always ends up being there? Sure, you take a lot of pictures, sure they're not terrible, but Jesus, changing it because of some "angle"? You know how much time it took me to get that fucking Escape? I was practically chased after. Well, then Mr. IFCAR comes in and saves the fucking day. You may not even know it, but you're the reason I suddenly don't want to add anything to Wikipedia, modify anything, and don't even care to bother because I know at the end my stuff will be gone. It's a pathetic waste of time. By the way, if you're pictureman, why don't you take a good one of the new Dodge Dart? I don't see them anywhere in Canada right now, maybe you pindos have some good examples, hm? Explorationofspace (talk) 22:13, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ANI Notice

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. ViriiK (talk) 22:36, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder how you sleep at night. Explorationofspace (talk) 22:42, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's enough. You understand that there are policies governing how you conduct yourself at Wikipedia? WP:CIVIL, WP:AGF, WP:PA are some good examples that you need to understand and conduct yourself. ViriiK (talk) 22:44, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Tell me, if you've had a police department to conduct within a government which would have been delegating policies here and there, would you rely on them solely and blindly, or would you still imply common sense toward the fact that you could hurt someone's emotions? Blocking me was putting me in prison, banning would be capital punishment, only because I didn't take out the trash and was rude? So I'm just asking you how would you sleep at night with the conscience of a squealer and do-goodie who was always doing what the regulations told him/her to? One day, you will be dust and bones, I will be dust and bones, and Wikipedia will not remember neither of us. But the thing is: I didn't try hard. You did. Yet, same result. Think about it, Explorationofspace (talk) 22:53, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You mean "ban"? Explorationofspace (talk) 22:54, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, he meant what he said. Blocked without notice. And yes, if you throw around racist comments again, you will be blocked. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 22:59, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, blocked. Bans are technically different. But you will be blocked if you use ethnic slurs such as "Pindos" again, or abuse other editors in similar ways again.
Please take some time off editing, calm down, review Wikipedia's core values , and resume editing in a more constructive and collaborative manner.
