Speedy deletion of Mordechai C. Albrecht

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mordechai C. Albrecht requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. • I would suggest reading WP:BIO, the notability guideliens for biographies, and especially WP:PROF, the guidelines for professors. I'm sure that your professor is a good man and all, and your adventure sounds cool, but there doesn't seem to be anything that makes him notable per either guideline. The fact that there's "nothing on the web" about him especially has me convinced that there's nothing about him that makes him notable for inclusion on Wikipedia. After all, Wikipedia is for writing about things that already are notable, not a means of promoting someone into notability. Your username

[edit]

Also, we'd like to request that you reconsider your username because a) Prof. Albrecht is associated with the foundation, opening you up to a claim of conflict of interest and b) it suggests a role account, which we don't allow.

You can just review our username policy and start a new account as this one's not blocked. Do consider running your new username by us before you open the account, though. Daniel Case (talk) 14:38, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ok, I see the problem. He got to be notable. Well, I thought that being among the few archaeologists allowed by israelian state to dig in Tel Dan was making him notable. But if there's nothing about him on the web, I can understand... The funny thing about my article is that his assistant told me that he was a man avoiding publicity like a cat avoiding water. Anyway, thanks for the answer, now I understand better how wikipedia works. And I'll talk about him in my blog's account of the digging:-)--Ezidafoundation (talk) 23:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
