A tag has been placed on For the Cause STI Awareness Charity, Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  IShadowed  ✰  05:11, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am rewriting the article... although, I do not understand the criteria in which I am to follow. I am simply putting up information as I see other pages have done. I do believe the the misunderstanding is because I have a membership to Wikipedia, however, I thought that was required in order to ad an article. Again, Please allow me time to edit this page. --For the Cause STI Awareness Charity, Inc. 05:24, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

FYI conflict of interest guideline

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia in User:FTCCharity, For the Cause STI Awareness Charity, Inc., or other articles, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. You may also wish to consider changing your username, to avoid giving the impression that your account is to be used for promotional purposes. Regardless, doing so does not exempt you from the proscription against editing articles in which you have a conflict of interest. Thank you. — Athaenara 05:31, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

After hours of trying to figure out how use this site, I must say that it does not allow for rectification, eventhough it suggests it. I added the "handon" as I was directed and in my opinion, 10 minutes is not enough time to learn to navigate through and correct such a serious issue. As a new user, I am not familiar with Wikipedia and had only asked for enough time to correct my error, which I was under the impression that I would receive once I added the "hangon" to my page. As I stated before, I am in the process of rewriting the article as well as following other percausions to not have a conflict of interest. I did previously post that I thought it was required to have a membership with Wikipedia in order to post an article. Yet, again after hours of finially figuring out my mistake, I am now left to start from scratch?! Do you suppose you can lead me in the right direction to delete/cancel my membership? Thx! --For the Cause STI Awareness Charity, Inc. 05:46, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry about the confusing introduction to Wikipedia. The problem isn't that you haven't successfully figured out how to write an article about your charity; the problem is that you're not allowed to write that article at all. Writing an article about your own charity is advertising, and Wikipedia does not accept advertising of any form, no matter how good the cause.
Anyway, I can certainly disable this account; this is basically what we'd want to do anyway, given that you already seem to be using an account with a more appropriate name (User:JonesSAC). I hope you find topics you are interested in to edit under that username, but don't get your hopes up about being able to add a Wikipedia article about your own charity. rspεεr (talk) 10:35, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
