There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. creffett (talk) 01:38, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

unaware our name was a violation but happy to change it to something more ambiguous

Decline reason:

You forgot to address your inappropriate edit, you forgot to tell us what you'd write about if unblocked, and that replacement username is not acceptable. Additionally, shared accounts are not permitted so you'll need to confirm that only a single person has access to this account. Yamla (talk) 12:08, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have now read the username policy in full and amended my details accordingly. I'm the only person that has access to this account. This will always be the case. I apologise that the link I added was deemed inappropriate. The page contains no advertising and is full of , up to date information as well as useful tools that are relevant to the topic that I was commenting on. I have absolutely not received any remuneration and will not for this edit or any future edits. I would appreciate it if somebody could review the link on this basis. If my account is unblocked, I anticipate that my contributions to Wikipedia will be numerous and mostly consist of editing/filling in gaps on pages with technology-related content.

Decline reason:

I don't believe for a second that you are not employed by the website you edited about. You don't have to be specifically paid for your edits, being an employee is enough. As noted by Yamla below, you won't be unblocked to edit in areas related to your conflict of interest. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 13:35, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
