Translating content from foreign Wikis

[edit]

While it is always welcome for users to translate content from foreign Wikis, as you have done in this edit at Canneto sull'Oglio, there is more involved in the process than simply copying the text to Google translate and dropping the result here at en.wiki. In your translation, you have dropped all citations that existed in the original text, and you have given us this sentence:

The name Canneto comes from the Latin canna palustre, from which cannetum.

which imparts no information, since you have not explained what canna palustre is (a common reed), or what cannetum might mean (presumably a reed field). As you continue with your task of translating Italian content to en.wiki, please keep these thoughts in mind. Further, if the material you are translating from it.wiki does not have valid sources, it might be best to leave it out of the en.wiki article, as en.wiki takes verifiability quite seriously.
