Thank You For Your Hard Work
[edit]The Content Creativity Barnstar | ||
I stumbled across some of the NGC articles today and I would like to thank you for your research and hard work! It's time someone took some initiative. I'm thinking of coming back to Wikipedia after a long break, so tell me if you ever need some help, especially with the long NGC backlog. ΤheQ Editor Talk? 21:33, 30 November 2017 (UTC) |
Ways to improve NGC 4252
[edit]Hi, I'm Nick Moyes. Felix558, thanks for creating NGC 4252!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix.
- Please would you improve your references so that the data on the individual galaxy can be found? At the moment, all your NGC articles are only linking to the home page of the online database, not the entry about the system itself. I'm sure you appreciate that this isn't really sufficient. We need links or references that support the actually data you've included, and this should not be a difficult step for you to do, as you will have already been using that page to extract the information. e.g.http://ned.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/objsearch?objname=NGC+4252&extend=no&hconst=73&omegam=0.27&omegav=0.73&corr_z=1&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES I expect you could find a shorter url - this was taken from the search results.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page.
- I might also suggest that you don't archive all your feedback immediately. I know that multiple page review comments may appear to bulk out your talk Page, but I can assure you this is a really useful way for other editors to see what feedback a new editor has been receiving, and to help and guide them where necessary. (See Help:Archiving a talk page) Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 12:36, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- I have updated "NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database" references in my NGC articles with more specific links, as you suggested. Thank you once again for your useful comments! Felix558 (talk) 03:16, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

- No problem! Fight against vandalism can lead to confusion sometimes, with so many edits that should be reverted on so many articles
