External linking

[edit]

So far, it appears that your only interest in Wikipedia is inserting external links to the Rice University Woodson Research Center archives. In some cases such links may be appropriate in "External links" sections, but in some cases they may be excessive, redundant, or inappropriate. Please read our external-links guidelines and try to abide by those recommendations. If you are unsure whether an external link is appropriate in a particular case, bring the matter up on the article's talk page and seek a consensus of other editors for the link's inclusion. Hi FondyRnD:
I am editing the Jesse H. Jones article and I can see you have written some interesting material about his resignation from the FDR administration. I can also see that you went to some trouble while trying to create citations from some letters, I am guessing from archival material. While I am not the best person to consult for Wikipedia rules and the style manual, this looks like original research, which is discouraged WP:OR. Wikipedia favors secondary sources. Fortunately, there is a good secondary source; that is, Steven Fenberg, Unprecedented Power. Fenberg cites Jones' letters, and I am reading his book right now. Hopefully I can support your text with his book, unless you beat me to it. Oldsanfelipe (talk) 19:32, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
