Why are you doing this? —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:40, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Beacuse most of icons now use state=AB; and type out Image and blue links is older inventory. most peole now types the template equation to display the icons and blue links.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

What...? Either way is perfectly valid. There's no need to change from one to the other; it's a waste of time. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 04:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I-710

First off I'm no expert since I don't live in Los Angeles (I'm up the coast a ways). I wouldn't count on the project actually happening; it's fantastically expensive to build freeways in tunnels, and always costs more than forecast (see Big Dig for a "small" example). Because of current California budget situations I'd be utterly blown away if they decided to go ahead with this. And the documents needed -- environmental reports, geotechnical reports, ... that stuff takes years to put together. Just my opinion. Cheers! Antandrus (talk) 02:30, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

NE2 maybe lives in California. Just because he says it doesnt mean its true. He I guess is later 40s or 50s. He is straight focus because I guess he may be busy and have no time for little things.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I remove your deletion request on this image. Commons is not a repository of scientific content, so we can't delete this image because it's speculation. May, or may not use this image in an article of Wikipedia is not the same. We can remove this image from an article without need to delete it. Thanks. ~ bayo or talk 16:21, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

This image needs to be delete. And the Earth fate is not determine until 7.55 billion years from now. Sun can be as big as 160 times the size of now; which is almost to mars orbit. Earth might not survive at this time due to the tidal interaction; even nobody understands well how this works. Earth now is calculate a higher chance to be swallow up when sun becomes a giant, just like Mercury and Venus. only Mars and other outer planets might be able to escape to wider orbit.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

I think that image should be delete. First the greenhouse effect is far before 3.5 billion years from now. And also when sun turns to cherry giant only Mars and outer planet will able to escape to wider orbit. Sun will be much bigger than 100 times size of now. We dont know when sun will be 100 times bigger. I know before 6 billion time; Earth ocean and air will be lost in space. --Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Earth's fate

I'm confuse right now. First sun will loss 33% of mass, and maximum diam of 1.2 AU. That means Venus and Earth would be able to escape envelopment leaving it at 1.3 and 1.75 Aus. Anyways, I dont see Earth getting closer to sun. What is a tidal force tugging Earth in and vansih it actually means. I thought Earth might escape a little bit; but too slow, sun still pick it up and swallow it up.--Freewayguy TL C 04:25, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

This is the source cited. Seems to make sense. Serendipodous 11:52, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Only Saturn' moon Titan will be habitat for solar system. Why would sun and Earth have tidal interaction anyways. I dont see Earth moving closer to sun. But I still think Earth might be swallow up but not sure how. I thought Earth will be too slow to get away from engulfment. Lumin of sun of 2700 will cause Europa Jupiter's moon to become to that of mercury's today; and mars I'm not sure. Mars may survive but will be like twice as hot as Mercury. I know inner planets would get destroy. Mercury and Venus I know will almost certainly get swallow up.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
The Sun and the Earth already tidally interact, because the Earth moves closer and farther away from the Sun in its orbit, creating a tiny tidal effect. The Sun also plays a role in the tides produced by the Moon. If I'm reading that article correctly, it is the Sun, not the Earth, that determines how close the Earth will get. The closest approach will be when the Sun reaches its second red giant phase, and its maximum diameter, which, apparently, will be close enough to tidally disrupt the Earth's orbit. Serendipodous 07:01, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
The correct explanation is that the Earth's gravity will raise tides in the Sun's vast outer envelop, which will be only weakly bound to the core. In addition, the Sun will almost stop rotating at the red giant stage due to conservation of the momentun. So the tidal bulge created by the Earth's gravity will be following the orbital motion of the Earth, but with a delay. As a result the additional gravity force from the bulge will slow the Earth causing its orbit to shrink. This effect is the same as with inner moons of giant planets now: if a moon's orbital period is less than the rotational period of the planet, the tides slow the moon and shrink its orbit. The same is true for Triton. Ruslik (talk) 07:42, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry; i don't understan any term above; first why will Earth shrink orbit when sun loss gravity and mass.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Currently the Sun rotates in one month. In the red giant stage it will take more than an Earth year to rotate. See: Tidal_deceleration#Tidal_deceleration -- Kheider (talk) 20:30, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

I should note that the Earth will die near the tip of the RGB branch, not in AGB phase, as the article now states. This is clearly written in the Schroder's article. Ruslik (talk) 11:49, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Shields

Click the "Download Now" link to download the program (Inkscape). After you install it, and download the shield templates from the Commons, you will be able to use it to make shields.-Jeff (talk) 02:09, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Just click "Accept", that's just the license.-Jeff (talk) 02:34, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Is it done installing yet? If it is, open it. To start making shields, you need to get the templates from the Commons. You should be able to find them in commons:category:Interstate Highway shields-Jeff (talk) 03:28, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Please make sure that you read the Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Templates. when accepting or declining requests. Thank you. --75.47.155.0 (talk) 02:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Someday; I beleive this image will be finalize. They can take another 4 days, but not forever. Whe I see WP:GARAGE AND WP:TAKEITEASY I can find Wki is impossible on due dates. If one day doesnt work try two days, if still doesnt work try 5 days, if still doesnt work try 8 days. The 635 one is fine to deelte it and it is fine to just orphan it. Metric and spell out one is not exactly the same. One of them the white text is more seperate than the other one. The 94 one the Interstate 94 (Indiana) should definitely be delete. But this was not upload by admin groups so this will definitely take longer. If it was then it will be delete right away. They have enough people vote, so they will get finilize soon. Maybe it will only take 70 more hours, I just have to forget about it, and someday they might be delete.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

What's wrong with how it's categorized now? —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 02:38, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Done. Tag any images that need to be copied to Commons with {{copy to commons}}. They'll eventually get copied over...but there's thousands of images awaiting transfer so don't expect it to happen right away. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 02:49, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I need to look into the MUTCD and see which is the more accurate version. I think the "Metric" version he has there is actually the way the shield is supposed to look. The other one probably more accurately reflects the style of some Texas signage, but doesn't necessarily follow the specifications correctly. So it probably needs to be kept. All media on Commons must be properly categorized so it can be easily found. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 03:04, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Just curious if there is a reason why this change was made: [1]? Imzadi1979 (talk) 20:22, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Our new coversion factors is {{Jct|state=PV|I|00}}; I could sometimes just do it to some of them; I dont have time to do to all of them.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but you only used the template for one of the junctions, not all of them. It doesn't add or change anything to the page to switch to the template, so I would suggest not making the change unless/until you were updating the article in other ways. To do so to one junction in the middle of an article with no other changes wastes computer resources. Imzadi1979 (talk) 01:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Freeways

No, I don't know about any of those freeways. I never drive on the freeway. I don't know, Southern California really needs more freeways but we have yet to build any. Lady Galaxy 21:59, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

  • This makes sense. When people is upset they usually try to "stop it". This is what happens to most freeways propose in the 1960s like 57, 91, 118, 90, 2,39, and 605. They try to extend it so it can connect the SR 1 and make it a freeway, same with 380 but thats in San Francsico, and 180 is in Central Valley California Aquaducts. They do this so they can turnCoast Hwy into Coast Frwy, but will be too harsh. The 710 north I believe is "unlkely" to my desktop. THe air is bad enough and our atmos looks yellow from LAX Airport. The 241 South in Orange County has been a big deubious project, Caltrans is afraid they never get them done, but most peole now is trying to get this project avoid. NE2 works on California Highways, Thoguh he say he does not live in California doesn't mean its true. Some users is strong on their personal life, he may be living in Roseville and 51 years old or in North-California Valleys.--Freewayguy T C 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
