Speedy deletion nomination of System of linear congruence
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that System of linear congruence, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It covers a topic on which we already have an article - Chinese remainder theorem. (See section A10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Chinese remainder theorem, or to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
- It appears to be about something made up, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your article
[edit]I'm sorry, but as-submitted, your article System of linear congruence is not suitable for Wikipedia, for the following reasons:
- First and foremost, you have to cite your sources to demonstrate verifiability, even when something seems obvious, even in mathematics.
- The idea of simultaneous linear congruences is already discussed by the Chinese remainder theorem article.
- Wikipedia is not a how-to guide or textbook so it is not our job to give methods for solving simultaneous linear congruences. Such content is more appropriate for Wikiversity.
- While less serious than the above points, it is expected that regardless of your English proficiency, you write with proper English grammar.
Please take a careful read of the above points before attempting to recreate the article, as I have tagged it for speedy deletion a second time. Persistently recreating the article will result in its being deleted again, and salted. Please don't let it get to that point.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:07, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- I also believe that your method of splitting of congruences is generally inapplicable. Take the set of numbers congruent to 4 modulo 8 and congruent to 4 modulo 12. This cannot be simplified to a system of pairwise coprime congruences. Its solutions are precisely those numbers congruent to 4 modulo 24.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:18, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

- @Fungwan39: I know you are knew to Wikipedia, but first and foremost, you need to listen to what I've been saying about how Wikipedia works.--Jasper Deng (talk) 17:29, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
