Reykjavík Airport
[edit]I put the 06/24 runway back because all the sources I looked at including the Icelandic Civil Aviation Authority say that it exists. I think the sentence in the article should read that 06/24 it was opened in 2002. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 17:24, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ah that took a bit of work. I can't read the Icelandic page but I can tell enough that there are only two runways listed and that does not include 06/24. Then it gets odd. I got the Aeronautical Information Publication for the airport and it also shows three runways. I was just going to email the airport manager and ask him how many runways they had when I thought and checked for NOTAMs. Sure enough there was one which says that "RWY06/24 CLOSED FROM: 31 JUL 2006 16:33TO: 14 AUG 2006 15:00". If the link does not work for you, I then found this version from the Icelandic page but I can't get to it from the English version. Both the AIP and the original NOTAM link came from Eurocontrol Basic which you have to sign up for, but it's free. Perhaps you can find out some more on this. - I added the link to the Icelandic version that shows only two runways and dropped the elevation by 3 ft/1 m as that's what's in the AIP. Didn't add the runway back though. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 17:29, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
